What’s in store for Westworld? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s creators are trying to avoid production delays on season two of the HBO series.
The sci-fi drama is set in a futuristic theme park where visitors pay a lot of money to act out their Wild West fantasies while interacting with lifelike robot “hosts”. The cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Jimmi Simpson.
During a recent panel at PaleyFest, creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy mentioned they will write all of season two before production begins. Season one of Westworld was originally intended to debut in 2015 but production was halted so Nolan and Joy could finish writing the final episodes.
Earlier, it was announced season two would not premiere until 2018. HBO has already ordered 10 episodes for the new season of Westworld.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Westworld? What do you think will happen in season two?
I just want to see season two before Summer 2018. Thinking ahead, I’m guessing Dr. Ford will return (please, Anthony Hopkins), as somewhat of a ‘ghost’ character, using the ‘rebel’ hosts to both make money off of the outside world, and to infiltrate the highest levels of power to put a ‘New World’ in place.
