There always has to be a first TV show cancellation and this season’s came much later than expected. Though several new shows have been essentially cancelled (Minority Report, Blood & Oil, Truth Be Told, and The Player), they are all still on the air. On Friday the 13th, ABC pulled the plug on their newest (and lowest-rated) drama after just three episodes.
Wicked City is set on the seedy Sunset Strip in the early 1980s. It revolves around Detective Jack Roth (Jeremy Sisto) and his new partner Paco Contreras (Gabriel Luna) as they try to solve a high-profile serial killer case. The rest of the show’s cast includes Ed Westwick, Erika Christensen, Taissa Farmiga, Karolina Wydra, Evan Ross, Anne Winters, and Jaime Ray Newman.
The cancellation was far from a surprise as Wicked City’s ratings were poor right from the start and they dropped lower and lower each week. For whatever reason, the audience just wasn’t interested. However, that’s not to say that the cast and crew didn’t put just as much effort and pride into the series as the creative people who work on a top rated show.
Following the cancellation, some of them took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

What do you think? Will you miss watching Wicked City on ABC? Do you think that ABC could have given the series a better chance?
WTH!!! I don’t watch “tv shows” but got hooked on this one. I thought it was FANTASTIC-the suspense kept me wanting more!! Thanks for NOTHING ABC!
wut happend here i thought we cud at least watch 8 episodes n now its jus gone how cruel!
I just came across the show and power watched all 3 episodes. I wanted more. Extremely sad about this cancellation
Should give shows a chance ABC. I binge watched 3 episodes in a row. Big bummer.
Very disappointed this show was cancelled. I think ABC should have given it more time and kept up the advertisement of the show. I got into it from the first episode and I haven’t really watched any other detective series since I overloaded on watching Law & Order after so many years. I thought the cast was really talented and the show was made well.
Can’t believe it is canceled! Amazing show!
So sad they cancelled wicked city. I loved it as did all my friends that I made watch it. Abc has a habit of canceling good shows.
Why would you do this? It was just getting to the good pet? bring it back!
I loved Wicked City…very disappointed to see it canceled. Don’t think it was given enough time! We can we see the remaining episodes?
I loved this show. Can’t believe it was cancelled. Bring it back ABC — pleas!
I love wicked city, one of my favorites by far.
PLEASE, PLEASE BRING IT BACK !!!!!
I can’t believe this show was canceled. My husband and I really liked it.
Im so upset. I was really excited to see what this show had in store for us. Only 3 episodes and I found myself obsessed.
I AM SO BUMMED THAT THIS WAS CANCELLED!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW!!! 🙁
