TV show description:
A high-tech crime drama, the Wisdom of the Crowd TV show centers on Silicon Valley entrepreneur Jeffrey Tanner (Piven). After his daughter Mia (Cowen) is killed, Tanner sets out to design an online platform for real-time, crowdsourced crime solving.
In his obsession to find his child’s killer, Tanner is motivated by the idea that a million minds are better than one. He pins all his hopes on harnessing the “wisdom of the crowd,” in order to solve this crime and as many others as possible.
Taking inspiration from Sophia, the personification of Wisdom, Tanner names the platform Sophe and drafts Detective Tommy Cavanaugh (Jones) for his team. Cavanaugh was the first police officer to investigate Mia’s murder and worked it until he was abruptly removed from the case.
Tanner and Cavanaugh work with Sara Morton (Tena) an ingenious engineer, whose relationship with Tanner is not strictly professional. Rounding out the team is their nerdy lead programmer, Josh Novak (Lee), a skilled, capable worker, and Tariq Bakari (Matthews), a tech savant and ace hacker who may have some authority issues.
Meanwhile, Tanner’s ex-wife, Congresswoman Alex Hale (Potter), worries about his obsession. Despite their divorce, she cares for him. Although he was not a good husband, Alex appreciates that Tanner was a good father. Their profound grief has forged in them an unbreakable bond.
Series Finale:
Episode #13 — The Tipping Point
Cavanaugh investigates the murder of a top Sophe user who filled his basement with conspiracy theory evidence. Also, Alex attends the release hearing for Carlos Ochoa (Ramses Jimenez), the man convicted of killing Mia.
First aired: January 14, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Wisdom of the Crowd TV series? Should this TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS?
Love this show, it could be an actual system one day that would help a lot of people get justice. It’s true that so many people may not be aware of what they saw until it’s in front of their face. Great show, Great concept.
Don’t cancel the best new show on tv!!
Unless they have actual proof that Jeremy Piven really did what he’s been accused of then DON’T cancel this show!!! I love it! It’s one of my favorite new programs. And we really want to find out who killed Mia! All these sexual harassment claims are getting out of control. I’m sure a lot of it is true but some, I think people are making up just for the attention. It’s a shame that they may be making false claims and ruining reputations just to be part of a movement. For those claims that are real, shame on the men… Read more »
This is a great unique show! Please don’t cancel!!!!
Renew the show. Love it.
How about replacing the actor. There a while bunch of other people on the show both in front of and behind the cameras that will out of work.
I hope this show will not be cancelled. It is one of my favorites.
Love the show. It is intelligent and modern. Probably on too early in the evening for the adult audience that will appreciate its sophistication.
Wisdom of the Crowd should be renewed. They are exploring subjects that need to be addressed.
Love this show!! Please don’t cancel!
I don’t think a good show like this should be cancelled due to Jeremy Piven’s prior conduct, regardless of how vile or cruel it was. If the networks want to discipline Mr. Piven, why destroy a good show with excellent actors? Get rid of him if you think you must, but don’t destroy the show because Mr. Piven allegedly made sexual or inappropriate gestures toward someone years ago. As destructive as it is to be violated in any way, shouldn’t a court determine the consequences of his action? This is a GOOD SHOW! Please renew it.
These shows should not be cancelled because of accusations against the stars. Allegations, NOT proven facts. Hundreds of people are losing their jobs, viewers are left hanging, all because of UNPROVEN accusations. I am a woman and I for one, am sick of it.
This is very upsetting to me. Innocent until proven guilty, right? Also, someone suggested the wife continue the search for Mia if Jeremy Piven has to go. There are other strong characters that could carry in with the concept! Please don’t cancel the show!
Change the show lead to the mother. Don’t put all these people out of a job ,not nice. The show is getting much better. Charactors fleshing out.
Yes, I do like this program because it MIGHT give a realistic view of the future. With all the smart phones that people have, who know what will happen, like tomorrow will become today. Dick Tracy (PI) had a wrist-watch phone back in the 20’s – 30’s – or some time in the past. Today, we have something very close to it.
Hate to see that this show was cancelled….love the actors on the show and the story lines..only half way decent show on Monday nights.
