There won’t be a third season of magic for the ladies of Witches of East End on Lifetime. The cable channel has cancelled the supernatural drama after two seasons on the air.
Witches of East End revolves around the ladies of the Beauchamp family who’ve discovered that they are witches with ancient magical powers. They must defeat unearthly enemies while keeping their abilities a secret from the other townspeople. The cast includes Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Mädchen Amick, Eric Winter, Daniel DiTomasso, and Christian Cooke.
The first season of the series averaged 1.67 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic — good enough to secure a second season renewal. The second season dropped 32% in viewers to 1.13 million and dropped 24% in the demo, falling to a 0.5 rating.
Unfortunately, the second season ended with several unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will share how things would have been resolved at some point.
What do you think? Did you like this Lifetime series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Lifetime is the problem. Ever since A&E took them over they’ve gone down hill. They ignore all negative comments from social media and people just stopped watching. I wish WOEE was started by another channel because it would still be on and far more popular. It was just as good as Walking Dead!
I love this show please reconsider lifetime
I am so upset that Lifetime canceled this series. It was the only reason I watched Lifetime. Every other series on Lifetime is a mindless bust and this is the only one that was worth turning on. You made a huge mistake. I am boycotting Lifetime. #BooLifetime #BringbackWitchesofEastEnd
I am so sorry to hear that Lifetime has cancelled my Witches of East End…it was a very good show and now we are left with all these cliff hangers as to what happened to everyone….I am upset…shame on you Lifetime…it is way better than some shows you have on…Very disappointed!!!
I have been following some of the outcry about this cancelation on Facebook, Twitter, and other internet sources, not to mention the people I interact with daily. Sounds like the bulk of people no longer have a single reason to watch Lifetime any longer. Good Job Lifetime, for ******** up the only reason people still bothered to tune in to your network anymore.
Witches, was a good show. I can’t believe it was canceled, but let’s keep dance moms, and other stupid shows. So done with lifetime.
I am disappointed that they cancelled witches of east end
I hate the fact that we might not be finding out what will happen next. Most of us Arnt readers and we don’t know if it’s %100 the same as the books but NOW I MUST READ!
They might aswell killed everyone off so we won’t be left out hanging! I might as well hate them all so I won’t be painfully missing them!
Shout out to “the Pill”! Awesome movie
I watched it thinking of Ingrit
I am disappointed this show got canceled. This show is one of the best shows Life Time has aired on its channel. Life Time will be loosing one of its best assets by canceling this show. I think everyone should stop viewing Life Time until further notice that the show will be aired.
There is a full on boycott in the works. I won’t even flip by Lifetime when looking for something to watch anymore. LMN I will still watch, but only 2 shows, and they are not even on regularly. So far as I can tell, Lifetime just lost 700K viewers and rising over this insane decision.
Its bad enough they made us wait months for the second season, no wonder viewership dropped (.1) I mean come on!!! Yet stupidity like Tori and whatever his name is still on. I’m not going to watch this channel again. And even though I love Grumpy Cat I am blocking the station till they bring Witches of East End back.
I am disappointed that this show was cancelled because it is the best show on television next to Revenge! At the very least, the network should allow the producers to have a mega Series Finale to tie up the loose ends. Lifetime apparently cares less about what the fan base for this fantastic show and as a result, I don’t think that I will ever watch the network again!
I NEVER heard of this show at all. It does not seem it was promoted on other channels much at all.
Or my Tivo habit f fast forwarding through commercials cut it off.
I like shows like this ones premise. I will have to see if I can catch up to this show and see what I missed.
Ok another network I won’t watch anymore – I’m getting to enjoy cable and other avenues better than these networks that don’t care what fans think – ratings are the only thing they care about even if they are acceptable. Pleaseeeeee don’t even try putting any new series on I will alert my friends and family that you are another network that should bite the dust.
Love this show. Done with Lifetime. 2nd show they have taken off that I liked. Yet they keep alot of shows not worth being on there. Very disappointed, look forward to it every week! Was a great ending to my weekend.
This is ridiculous! Another network gets it wrong and cancels an entertaining & worthwhile show. I really liked this show. WTH! I really enjoyed this supernatural, fantasy inspired 60 mins of television each week, as it was centered on women as the main characters that were in there 30’s and 40’s, exploring and expanding their “power” and prowess in whatever avenue was warranted. What the hell is going on with the execs at Lifetime? How in the world can they keep renewing & exploiting every facet of Tori Spelling’s life in an attempt to bring ” entertainment” to a viewing… Read more »
