There won’t be a third season of magic for the ladies of Witches of East End on Lifetime. The cable channel has cancelled the supernatural drama after two seasons on the air.
Witches of East End revolves around the ladies of the Beauchamp family who’ve discovered that they are witches with ancient magical powers. They must defeat unearthly enemies while keeping their abilities a secret from the other townspeople. The cast includes Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Mädchen Amick, Eric Winter, Daniel DiTomasso, and Christian Cooke.
The first season of the series averaged 1.67 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic — good enough to secure a second season renewal. The second season dropped 32% in viewers to 1.13 million and dropped 24% in the demo, falling to a 0.5 rating.
Unfortunately, the second season ended with several unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will share how things would have been resolved at some point.
What do you think? Did you like this Lifetime series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I just got finished watching season one I was blown away;eager to see season two and to know that there will not be a season three. Is ridiculous they finally come out with a woman show on lifetime that has something to it. Specially since they have cancel charmed. I’ve been dying for supernatural show of sisterly and motherly love. Please bring back the Witches of East End.
At least they should have a third season and end the show properly, and not leave the fans of the show just hanging! I’ve always liked Lifetime, but after this I don’t know anymore.
Hugh mistake I loved this show. I watched every episode. Now I just got to read the books. Lifetime made a big mistake.
that’s just like lifetime….always teasing us with one or two seasons then cancelling the show…. ratings should’nt have anything to do with it. It’s the loyal viewers who deserve another season.
Am still waiting on season 3
I hope they bring it back one day!!!!!!!!
I’m waiting for the next season…and the next after next hahaha…
was waiting for season 3 shame, shame
a third season should definitely be showed. viewer’s suspense cant be left hanging. i guess with more seasons, more people would view it. its because of these hitches and uncertainties in its continuity that discourages people from watching series. please do something about this. thanks
witches should have continued .. its all about the mighty buck friends. Seems the executives at these station ( fox-syfy-lifetime etc.) are clueless to the public just as our politicians.
Couldn’t agree with you more. They will never care what we think.
Ridiculous! Why even start watching new shows any more, the dumb network execs only seem to be interested in making reality tv junk shows.
Lifetime and Fox must be related. 2 companies who think it’s right to cancel top shows if a few viewer stop watching on show days. Lifetime must have seen this coming before the end of series 2 so WHY DIDN’T THEY MAKE AN APPROPRIATE ENDING to the series? Now I have no reason to watch o record lifetime tv GOODBYE
HUGE MISTAKE. This show should have a 3rd season and more!
I think that this show being canceled is a mistake, I have enjoyed this very much and have been waiting some what patient. this show has pulled me and kept we wanting more. What, why would you end this show? I’m pissed!!!!!
I am disgusted, I have been following this show for two seasons. Lifetime made a big mistake, I will not watch anything on that channel. Lifetime should do season three and end the show properly not leave everyone wondering what will happen.
Not everyone is interested in there one star movies and reality shows they run.
