What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Zoo stars James Wolk as zoologist Jackson Oz. The cast also includes Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Billy Burke, Alyssa Diaz, Josh Salatin, and Gracie Dzienny. After noticing animals behaving strangely during the African safaris he conducts, Oz and his team work to figure out the reason behind it. Meanwhile, the animals assaults become more cunning, coordinated, and ferocious.
Season three of Zoo opens in the year 2027. Thanks to the sterility issue, the human population is still diminishing. Meanwhile, hybrids pose a new threat. This relentless force of lab-created creatures is determined to wipe humans off the face of the earth. Although the team members have grown alienated from each other over the last ten years, Jackson, Jamie (Connolly), Abraham (Anozie), Dariela (Diaz), and Logan (Salatin) have to get past their differences and reunite when they learn that Mitch (Burke) is alive. They must stop the hybrids and their enigmatic creator – someone with a connection to their past.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Zoo averaged a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.65 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 31% and down by 40%, respectively. Find out how Zoo stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
On October 23, 2017, Zoo was cancelled so there won’t be a fourth season. Could it be revived somehow? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with even worse numbers than last season, it is difficult to figure out whether CBS will cancel or renew Zoo for season four. Frankly, after a 30% drop in both its demo numbers and audience size, I didn’t expect it to score this third season. I’m also a little put out. Crazy hybrids aren’t the only critters who need to feed. I’m happy for the fans of course, but still, I am starving. Personally, I think that the numbers are too low this time around. We’ll see. I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings and update this page as needed. Subscribe for free updates on any Zoo cancellation and renewal news.

What do you think? Were you hoping that the Zoo TV show would be renewed for a fourth season? Are you sorry that CBS has cancelled this TV series, instead?
The 1st season was great and 2nd season was not too bad.. This 3rd season is all over the place. Would like to think they would rounded everything up nicely in this season and ended it. Let’s hope the last 3 episode’s round this season. If they have a season 4 let’s hope it’s better then all 3 seasons combined.
I hope Zoo will return for a 4th season. It has been a little strange this season BUT very entertaining. Please ask them to keep it. changing the night to Thursday has been a mess. Tuesdays were perfect. Too many other activities on Thursday that can keep people from being home to watch it. Thank you. Linda
Love the show I hope it’s on for a long time
I meant to say: will be happy to say goodbye.
This one got REALLY stupid this season!
Zoo stinks. Will be happy somsay goodbye!
i like the TV Show and i will be sad if they cancelled it 🙁 so please do not cancel it
I really enjoy the show with all the unexpected twists! I would be VERY disappointed if it didn’t get re newed for a fourth season! Please don’t leave those of of us that really enjoy the show hanging!
Season 1 was great, season 2 was OK but season 3 is just plain dumb and the whole thing has gotten ridiculous. I think they just need to find a suitable ending and wrap it up. I would hate to see it cancelled without closure. So instead of putting us through another crappy season, how about a three part mini-series and bring the show to an end.
I agree 100 %. I would like to see it concluded too. Don’t leave it hanging.
Season 2 was okay but season 1 was the best. I do not like season 3 at all. They put in Jackson’s sister for no reason at all. The storyline just got really boring for me and it’s not even really about animals anymore which makes it worse. Hopefully this is the last season. I will not watch this for a fourth season.
I think there should be a Season 4 really like the show.
s3ep9 should be the worst episode of all. script, airplane parts were really bad. hope end with this season. i can’t take this anymore. just finish this dumbest script.
Season 3 of Zoo has kept me on the edge of my seat. I truly believe the following percentages would of been higher had they advertised more of the event for the return date. I didn’t even know when it came back and had to go to on demand to catch up and continue. I am in hopes since it airs in summer and not Fall prime advertising slots that it will return for a 4th season.
Really right totally people watching is 2.76 millions of viewer need little bite more people watch I know it on very late people. Need watch don’t one of other number consist very weird even though day and time we need go up.
I think it’s about done. The story lines are really far fetched and is getting boring
Sorry….
I will be really mad if they did cancel it. It’s exciting and lot action! It’s one best shows on CBS.. I look forward to Thursday nights till it comes.. so please do not cancel it!!!
I would really be one angry person.. it’s one of the best shows. So please DO NOT cancel..
I know it is one of my fave to shows
