What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Zoo stars James Wolk as zoologist Jackson Oz. The cast also includes Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Billy Burke, Alyssa Diaz, Josh Salatin, and Gracie Dzienny. After noticing animals behaving strangely during the African safaris he conducts, Oz and his team work to figure out the reason behind it. Meanwhile, the animals assaults become more cunning, coordinated, and ferocious.
Season three of Zoo opens in the year 2027. Thanks to the sterility issue, the human population is still diminishing. Meanwhile, hybrids pose a new threat. This relentless force of lab-created creatures is determined to wipe humans off the face of the earth. Although the team members have grown alienated from each other over the last ten years, Jackson, Jamie (Connolly), Abraham (Anozie), Dariela (Diaz), and Logan (Salatin) have to get past their differences and reunite when they learn that Mitch (Burke) is alive. They must stop the hybrids and their enigmatic creator – someone with a connection to their past.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Zoo averaged a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.65 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 31% and down by 40%, respectively. Find out how Zoo stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
On October 23, 2017, Zoo was cancelled so there won’t be a fourth season. Could it be revived somehow? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with even worse numbers than last season, it is difficult to figure out whether CBS will cancel or renew Zoo for season four. Frankly, after a 30% drop in both its demo numbers and audience size, I didn’t expect it to score this third season. I’m also a little put out. Crazy hybrids aren’t the only critters who need to feed. I’m happy for the fans of course, but still, I am starving. Personally, I think that the numbers are too low this time around. We’ll see. I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings and update this page as needed. Subscribe for free updates on any Zoo cancellation and renewal news.

What do you think? Were you hoping that the Zoo TV show would be renewed for a fourth season? Are you sorry that CBS has cancelled this TV series, instead?
Don’t cancel it. I love the show. Plan my week around it
Please renew
I love Zoo! It is far fetched and bazaar but is so Sci-Fi! I am an older viewer-62. I am watch it EVERY week it is on. Everyone who knows me, knows what I will be doing on Thursday nights. Ready for season 4!
I know I am not in the typical age demographic, I’m fifty seven, and my husband is fifty nine, but we love this series. We will feel robbed if it doesn’t continue. We didn’t even know it existed until this summer 2017. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Don’t feel bad Wendy, I’m 62
Please renew Zoo. My husband and i watch it faithfully. It is one of the few shows we both agree upon and love watching.
Please keep the show zoo around. I faithfully so that I won’t miss an episode. Maybe if CBS would give it more press & let more people know about it, the numbers will go up. The CBS executives are upset b/c the numbers are low but they need to remember this, you put this show on in the summer, you don’t give it a lot of press and then you wonder why people are not responding to the show as you would like them to. Hopefully, you will give it one more season and do as I suggested by hyping… Read more »
Really really hope Zooo gets renewed for season 4. Show is my only entertainment. I work hard and never have money left over to go to the movies or out to eat. The show is my escape loooove it.Please please renew.
My husband and I just binge watched the first two seasons of Zoo, we LOVE it. It is a complex mystery that keeps you guessing. Please keep doing what you are doing because it’s fantastic.
I enjoyed the book. The show has gone a little crazy. The characters are real and likeable but I think it should end soon
This is a damn good show, but people don’t wanna see that, they wanna see crap “reality shows”. PLEASE CBS make more seasons of ZOO, PLEASE make more good tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zoo is a great show! Please renew Zoo and Salvation too!
I would like to see as many seasons of Zoo as possible. It’s a great show. I would be devastated if it was cancelled.
Please renewed another season many more seasons to come. Need a bite more people to watch it.
Zoo and Salvation are 2 of the best shows on tv. CBS would be stupid to cancel them. If ratings are low it’s because they are on in the summer when people are vacationing, etc. Do not cancel these shows! I look forward to watching them every week.
Just finished up E12 waiting for 13 just don’t want it to end, really enjoy watching. Every good good summer show have been canceled just after 2 or 3 seasons just then fall shows begin some shouldn’t even been on . Don’t cancel this one, let it finish the full story !!!
