Blue Bloods: Petition and Ways to Support the CBS TV Show

Blue BloodsThe Reagan family on Blue Bloods has experienced a lot of ups and downs in their lives but have always found a way to pull through and keep going. Unfortunately, their TV show may not survive. Its ratings, particularly in the all-important 18-49 demographic, aren’t that strong and the TV series could very well be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for CBS is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, well, it’s not.

However, if you like Blue Bloods and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on CBS.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be counted directly. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via “snail-mail” immediately to: Ms. Nina Tassler, CBS, 7800 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039, RE: Blue Bloods
  1. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

    Please keep Blue Bloods on the air. It is one of the shows that I look forward in watching all week. The entire cast works really well together and truly makes you feel they are a real family. I really enjoyed the character that Jennifer Esposito, could you please resolve any issues that you may have with her and bring her back. Thank you so much!

    CBS unfortunately canceled the Jesse Stone movies because not enough young people watched them and now they are thinking about doing the same with Blue Bloods.People are living longer these days and spending more money along the way.Just like young people older people buy what they see advertised on TV. They need shows that appeal to them so they can respond to the ads on those shows.Advertisers-wake up!

    In order for CBS to keep the title of being the best network on TV, the show Blue Bloods had better stay in the lineup. The family values, so sadly missing from TV today, and seeing the support the children have for one another, in addition to the acting qualities of the whole cast, this to me is tops. I look forward to Fridays to watch this, knowing I will go to bed with a good feeling to end the week. Almost church like! There is something there that needs to be in the face of the public. Hoping to see it stays on air for some time.

    This an excellent show, one of the very best on TV. It must continue, today there are so many terrible shows, especially the reality shows,that is is such a pleasure to watch, and the cast is super.

    Blue Bloods is our favorite TV show. We DVR it, so that we can share them with our friends & family who otherwise wouldn't know about the show. Most are in medicine with odd hours, so they DVR the show now too. Our regular viewership is not "counted"? Maybe you don't realize that Americans crave shows that reflect the values of loving, principled families like we were brought up in: like the Reagan Family? It',s a breath of fresh air to us: we respectfully request you give Blue Bloods another shot. And maybe you should figure out how to count the uncounted for a much more realistic count....

    To whom it may concern: Blue Bloods is the very best of the shows depicting accurately law enforcement - not just from their solving cases, but the interpersonal struggles the families face. It best captures the lives of the characters in the most realistic presentation. I know, I wan a detective with Norfolk PD (VA). Today I run a non-profit that serves law enforcement through a 24/7 coast2coast crisis line, chaplain services, and life skills coaching. Thus, I can speak from authority. Please leave this show on the air.
