This season, ABC’s Castle will be airing opposite NBC’s highest-rated scripted series and one of CBS’ top-rated TV shows — The Blacklist and NCIS: Los Angeles. Will the ratings continue to fall or could they rise against this stiff competition? Cancelled or renewed for season eight? We’ll have to wait and see.
As last season of Castle proved, the relationship of author Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) is anything but smooth. The rest of the cast includes Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Tamala Jones, Molly Quinn, Penny Johnson Jerald, and Susan Sullivan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Castle for an eighth season.
Final season averages: 1.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.47 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The sixth season of Castle averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.18 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Castle TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for an eighth season? Is it time to end the series?
Keep Castle. It is smart, well written, funny and very good development of characters. I’ve watched from the start. Some bteter than others, but all have great moments. The demo (18-49) may be a little too broad for stats. 18 – 25 most likely like the Fake Reality shows and brain dead shows (kardashian, survivor, big brother, etc.). It’s nice to have interesting, funny and well acted shows.
Keep It!!
You must keep Castle! It has it all! Drama, romance, comedy, great acting, terrific writing, and is much more entertaining then most programs on TV. I look forward to watching every Monday night!.
Please don’t cancel castle I love this show its the only thing I look forward to seeing on Monday.yea for castle, yea for castles & more episode please. please keep CASTLE LONGER.
Please don’t cancel castle I love this show its the only thing I look forward to seeing on Monday.
Keep castle one of my favorite shows they all work good together
CASTLE is an excellent tv show one of the best on right now. ABC please dont cancel this show. It is the best. Only show i really watch…
No question my favorite show on television. The character depth for this show is far superior to any other on television. The actors are wonderful and the storyline stays true to itself. I can’t wait for Monday night.
Great show I just got finished to the seasons ending show and I like it needs to come back for a 8th season
I whole heartily agree with the positive comments, especially Sue Anna!! I’m particularly in her corner about the Reality Shows!! What is happening to the creativeness that comes from shows like Castle, Mysteries of Laura, etc. We are loosing more & more of those to the so called Reality shows!! In real life don’t we have enough drama, without adding these fakes to our lives!! Keep Castle & all the good entertaining shows!!
I don’t get it, every one I talk to says Castle is a great show. The only complaint is the time slot. There are some wacko shows on earlier are they having trouble with viewers? come on give me a break. I would like to enjoy the show with out thinking about It being canceled.
Sue Anna I love you well done I second, third, fourth and anything else to help keep Castle from being cancelled . You rock
I have watched Castle since the first season. The writers made each character grow with each new season. In the episode where Alexis’s mom stayed because Alexis was sick with mono – at the end when Kate and her spoke (Castle went to get her “purse”) she stated that Castle does not open up and he knew more about her than she did. If one really watched the show – you would see that Kate got him to open up. We watched as Kate and he matured as a couple. There is still more to their relationship to explore —… Read more »
bye bye castle
Best show on TV
Castle is by far the best show on Tv. Deserves higher ratings and a 8th season for sure.
Abc must keep castle going for an eighth season. Castle is the best show on tv
Castle is indeed the best on TV I watch others that are said to be number one shows and Castle should be included by shear enjoyment I think the time slot for the others have something to do with it. The new showing tonight was an indication of good writing and with this ability for all the cast working well with each other. I ask for someone to step up and become aware of this show. The cast grew up in our household and fell like family. you cant void the show or kill off one of our family. I… Read more »
Castle is my all time favorite show. I agree about most of the 30 minute shows. They are terrible. Castle must keep going.
Castle is one of the best shows on TV. There are some many more stories to be written. Each season the writers makes the characters grow as individuals. Executives should stop looking at the demo and start to listen to what real people want to watch. FAKE REALITY shows are the worst. With Castle we watch him mature into a real man. The episode where his ex-wife stays (Alexis has mono), she stated at the end -that he knew more about her than she did about him. However with Kate he has opened up and told her things about himself… Read more »
