Crossbones: Cancelled? NBC Series Shipped to Saturdays

Crossbones TV show on NBCNBC has decided that their low-rated Friday night drama, Crossbones, will now wrap with a pair of episodes on Saturday August 2nd. The installments had previously been set for Friday, August 1st and Friday, August 8th.

Though the network hasn’t said that Crossbones has been cancelled, the ratings have been terrible and it’s highly unlikely to return for a second season.

I love crossbones and i loved revolution but it was cancelled so now i hear crossbones is getting cancelled so i think im going to go to another network. Seems like everyone is going for reality junk, so i guess im old fashioned. I still like a good movie.

Oh, and Edward is NOT dead; watch the last scene again. A second season opens up all sorts of interesting plot possibilities.

Finale was superb, full of drama and tension. This is the best written series on television. It was a pleasure to listen to literate dialogue, and to watch a show which respected the intelligence of its audience. Kudos to the writers and actors. It is a virtual tragedy that the audiences have been so dumbed down, and the networks so fixated on ad money, with quality not even in the equation, that a show like this one apparently cannot last, while utter junk permeates the airwaves. I have a small hope that some network will pick this up, but it’s probably a longshot.

I was very upset NBC canceled Dracula. Now I am doubly mad they canceled Crossbones. What do they have against shows with fantastic actors and great plots. I know they were both on the violent side. But, they are both wonderful shows with many fans. NBC is wrong to keep canceling quality shows and replacing them with crap.

I really liked this show. I would certainly watch a second season. I agree with some of the criticisms of the show in general but I enjoy most of the characters and the subject matter. John Malkovich is wonderful. Hate to see it end.

I’m sorry to see Crossbones ending. I realize the viewing audience was probably a small one, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show! It was a refreshing change from all the crime shows, bad comedies, and so-called “reality” shows. I’ll miss the show!

iCrossbones started without much enthusiasm. on my part, but I became a fan by mid-series, despite the improbable population of Teach’s “gang” which spent a lot of time as wallpaper in the scenes, and Malkovich’s propensity to bite off and spit out his emphatic words. Frankly, I was surprised that Malkovich signed up for a TV series and figured its short duration had as much to do with his availability as anything else. I realize that Teach’s falsified death in the final episode leaves the door open for resurrection, but I wouldn’t bet good money that there’ll be a second season.

Crossbones is one of the most clever and original television shows out there. It’s ratings killer is the early time slot. This is NOT a children’s program and responsible adults aren’t going to be watching it at an 8 PM time slot. Move it to 10 PM, take it off Friday nights and watch what happens. John Malkovich is a brilliant actor and the rest of the cast is superb. NBC, please don’t let us down!

NBC stinks for cancelling crossbones…..it was the best new idea for tv in ages….hope a cable network picks it up. Wonderful acting, and an actual plot to follow. All thumbs down to NBC, we know where there thumbs are.
