Everything’s scarier in Texas. According to Deadline, NBC has ordered a pilot for a new supernatural series called Midnight Texas.
Earlier today, we reported that NBC has also ordered a new primetime legal soap called Miranda’s Rights.
Based on the book series by Charlaine Harris, Midnight Texas follows the supernatural inhabitants of the small and strange eponymous town. Deadline is describing the series as “Twin Peaks meets True Blood.” Harris also wrote the Sookie Stackhouse novels that inspired the HBO series True Blood.
Monica Owusu-Breen is set to write and executive produce the pilot alongside David Janollari.
What do you think? Have you read the Midnight Texas novels? Would you watch the series?
I love the Midnight Texas novels and would be very interested in seeing them brought to life on TV.
Since I’m from Texas, I’m certainly excited about Midnight Texas. I was hoping it would be a show like Ghost Adventures using a team of paranormal investigators, but I’ll take fiction, too.
