Star Trek: Discovery has found its first star. ComingSoon.net reports Michelle Yeoh has been cast in the upcoming CBS All Access TV series.

Earlier, it was revealed the new installment will feature a female lead, a gay character, and be set in the years before the original 1960s series. Recently, it was also announced showrunner Bryan Fuller has stepped down and will continue only as an executive producer.

Consulting producer Nicholas Meyer confirmed the news that Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) will star in Star Trek: Discovery. The details of her role remain under wraps, but the series is slated to debut in May 2017.
