TV show description:
After being wrongly accused of sleeping with his former captain’s wife, a Chicago homicide detective moves to South Florida and takes a job with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

While detective Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore) can be hard to get along with, he’s also known for being attractive and brilliant. After the affair accusations, he uses his payout to move to a resort town; Palm Glade, Florida. He joins the state police, thinking it’ll be much easier than what he came from, but finds that’s not always the case. He likes to work alone and doesn’t like to share theories with other detectives. Since he’s very charming and very good at solving murders, people often let him do what he wants.

Longworth chases after Callie Cargill (Kiele Sanchez), a nurse who is attending medical school. She’s not as charmed by him as the others and is very devoted to her 12-year-old son, Jeff (Uriah Shelton). It’s been just the two of them since her husband was sent to prison. She has a general dislike for cops, but might be willing to cut Longworth some slack. Jeff constantly tests his boundaries with his mother and could definitely benefit from a father figure. He takes to Longworth right away.

A medical examiner for the crime lab, Carlos Sanchez (Carlos Gomez) is a colleague of Longworth’s. He oversees toxicology screens and autopsies, and is also his golfing buddy. He’s often put into compromising positions, trying to prove Longworth’s theories, and they’re sometimes put at odds over them. Carlos wants to be the best husband and dad he can be. Daniel Green (Jordan Wall) is a grad student who works for Carlos as an intern. His knowledge of science makes him very valuable to Longworth as well.

Colleen Manus (Michelle Hurd) is the tough Regional Director for the state police. She had been getting bad press because arrests were down in her area. Hoping to change that, she hired Longworth. She gives him a lot of freedom but will get on his case and put him in his place if need be.
