MTV has decided to cancel The Inbetweeners after one season and 12 episodes. While the original UK series was a hit overseas, the American version never caught on with a substantial audience.
A spokesperson for MTV said, “While we won’t be moving forward with another season of The Inbetweeners, we enjoyed working with the show’s creators and such a talented, funny cast.”
Revolving around a quartet of misfit teenage boys who are trying to fit in at high school and make it through that awkward stage of life, The Inbetweeners stars Joey Pollari, Bubba Lewis, Zack Pearlman, and Mark L. Young.
The show’s first (and only) season garnered a mere 620,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic while the last season of Teen Wolf averaged 1.69 million and a 0.7 demo rating. Current comedy Underemployed seems to be mirroring Inbetweeners’ numbers so this cancellation certainly doesn’t bode well for that show.
What do you think? Will you miss The Inbetweeners TV series? Are you sorry that the show has been cancelled?
I cannot believe they cancelled it wtf they suck they better keep teen wolf or I will hate this channel
Such b.s.!! Mtv did not promote this show all enough! And they only played it once a week while other shows are shown like then times a week. This show hit exactly with the comedy of today’s youth and could even supply a chuckle for an older crowd. This could of been a major hit but I guess Mtv would rather produce a bunch of reality t.v. of people from Jersey who suck at life. And the british version… their accents were too sloppy. And Jay and Neil were perfect for their roles!
Well this isnt cool guys this is a really funny show, i think its funny because its funny and stuff so put it back on. My cousin, my brother and I come home evreyday well teusdays and watch this show! Other than walking dead i can NOT wait to watch this show. So please please please please pleaase please put the show back on, thank you if your reading this. well if you are. if youre not suck it.
Having never seen the Brit version, I found MTV’s version hilarious, especially the earlier season ep’s. I definitely would’ve tuned in to a season 2. Then again, I’m not really MTV’s demo (I’m 61), but I’ve never grown out of juvenile humor (which I think is good…the world is way too serious). Also love the first 2 seasons of Awkward.
