The Neighbors: Season Two Ratings

The Neighbors TV show on ABC ratingsWhile The Neighbors didn’t attract a large audience in its first season, ABC decided to renew it and move the show to Friday nights. Will viewers make the move as well. Will the ratings be good enough to ensure a third season or will the series be cancelled instead? We shall see.

A family sitcom, The Neighbors follows the Weaver clan as they try to live in a beautiful gated community that’s filled with alien visitors from the planet Zabvron. The ensemble castmembers are Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Simon Templeman, Toks Olagundoye, Tim Jo, Clara Mamet, Ian Patrick, Isabella Cramp, and Max Charles.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. The Neighbors is a smart, original sitcom with talented actors. So sorry is being cancelled and the same “cookie cutters” shows are staying on the air. I’m watching Netflix more and more due to lack of original programming on network Television.

The neighbors is a cleverly, comic show that is marketable to all ages. Only a business
That is detached from their from quality of their product, in exchange for cookie cutter
Crap shows, will continue to turn clients to cable and weaken their own business.
Let alone the over advertising to keep the major networks running.

Please keep this show! Putting a sophomore show in the wasteland of Friday night is unfair! We love The Neighbors! Sometimes we have to watch on Hulu because Friday nights are very busy.

I absolutely love this show. Its a good family show. It sucks that it most likely get canceled because of a crap time slot. Shows may do well between 7-8 but really after 8 not that many people are watching tv. I realize this show has a certain brand of humor that a lot of people may not like. The sex jokes aren’t so in your face or over the top and the premise on the surface seems stupid but when you watch the show its hilarious.

I mean really on a friday night how many 18-49 year olds are at home? I know even if we are home generally its movie night, thank goodness ABC has it up on the site a day later so I watch it then, to bad they don’t track those numbers, the ratings would probably jump consideably

The ratings systems are deeply flawed. They do not represent the entirety of viewership and therefore are incomplete in their tallies. Additionally, I agree with Allison re. the “crap time slot”…it’s as if the production was given a token inclusion as sort of a toss-off. It is reprehensible that intelligent humor and overall quality fare is so often not give a serious nod simply because the powers that be conclude that money won’t be made. My response to that rationalization is to actively PROMOTE each show instead of focusing only what you feel commands the most attention. And when oh when will ABC stop prefacing their cavalcade of endless premieres with pronouncements that this or that is “the new #1″ in its genre before the public has even seen the pilot episode????? This network has consistently demonstrated that whoever is at the programming helm is asleep at the wheel! Every several weeks it seems a new replacement is paraded forth for whatever “failed” previously. Planned obsolescence. THE NEIGHBORS is quite sophisticated and affectionately cheeky. Give it a third season!

THE NEIGHBORS is refreshingly irreverent and offers some of the most sophisticated, tongue-in-cheek humor that the small screen has shown in years! I feel strongly that it should be renewed.
