Vegas: CBS Trims Episode Order, Will There Be More?

While CBS has increased their order for episodes of Elementary, the network has decided to cut the episode order for Vegas from 22 to 21 installments.

Starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, Vegas debuted to a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 14.85 million viewers. Considering the star power and promotion behind the series, that was a disappointment. For the next two weeks, the numbers seemed to stabilize at a 2.0 demo rating and roughly 12 million viewers.

On October 23rd, CBS ordered a full season of episodes for both Vegas and Elementary. That night, Vegas dropped 20%, to a 1.6 rating. The next week popped up to a 1.7 and this week’s went back down, to a 1.6 rating.

While the ratings have not been very good, CBS is apparently planning on sticking with Vegas for the rest of the season. If the numbers fall any further, it’ll be interesting to see if they cut any more episodes.

What do you think? Do you like the Vegas TV series? Do you think the ratings will come back up?

Please, Please do not drop this show. One of the best on the air. Keeps you riveted and you can hardly wait for the next episode. All the characters are excellant and I can see how each episode can expand into something new. Please keep it from being cancelled.

Vegas is one of the best series on television. With overall programing so bad, you would think it would be kept on. Only 6 or 8 good shows on this season worth watching. The public is forced to watch reruns.

Like this show very much. The cast is excellent! Being loosely based on real characters from the early 60′s gives this show an aura unmatched by anything else on network tv.
It’s a keeper!

Is it possible that you are getting your ratings from the wrong people? My wife and I my three married children and my eight grandchildren and my five great-grandchildren were deeply saden last nite when Vegas was not on the air. How could anybody in thier right mind think that Golden Boy was worthy to take the place of Vegas must have had a screw loose. VEGAS put it back on!!

We were very unhappy tonight, because the
show, Vegas, wasn’t on. We love this show.
Quaid and Chiklis are great and I really like
Carris Ann Moss and Miss Jones. There
are not very many good tv shows these days.
But we think this one is a winner. Please
keep this series alive. Thank You.
