12 Monkeys is bringing in a Battlestar Galactica star to the series for its third season on Syfy. Entertainment Weekly revealed that James Callis will join the series in a pivotal role.

No major details about the role have been revealed, but EW shared the following about Callis’ casting:

“Callis will play ‘a highly anticipated and pivotal new character to our series’ mythology,’ executive producer Terry Matalas says. Callis’ character is described as a ‘rebellious and enigmatic time-traveler raised throughout history by the Army of the 12 Monkeys, one whose conflicted personal and emotional path will change everything for James Cole (Aaron Stanford) and Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull).’”
