A White House comedy? Will 1600 Penn find ratings success (like NBC’s West Wing) or will it be cancelled quickly like Animal Practice? Time will tell.
The TV series stars Josh Gad as the goofball son of the President of the United States (Bill Pullman). Others in the cast include Jenna Elfman, Martha MacIsaac, Andre Holland, Amara Miller, and Benjamin Stockham.

It wasn’t a particularly impressive start for 1600 Penn, especially since its lead-in, The Voice, drew a 4.2 demo rating with 13.4 million viewers. Many critics have noted that the later episodes are much better than the first. It remains to be seen if viewers will give the show that much time.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

This show is so cute! There is so much that they can do with this. Skip is hilarious! Please don’t cancel this…writers, live up to the potential.
1600 is one of my most recent finds on Hulu, and I have quickly become enamored with it. I think the network needs to give it some time. It needs time to reach an audience, I just think people haven’t discovered its hilarity yet. Don’t cancel it!
I love this show! Its the only NBC show that is on my HULU Queue and I will be extremely disappointed if the network cancels this hidden gem! Its not like NBC has anything else on I would even consider watching (Parks & Recreation is the only exception). Each episode got better and better, the characters gained more depth, and the laughter only got louder!
This show is great! Other than SNL I don’t watch much of NBC’s programming, this is the best new show they’ve had in awhile. I discovered it because of college basketball (which probable explains it’s low ratings at the end) to cancel would be a big mistake.
Wow.
I am amazed at all the people on this board saying nice things about the crappy show called 1600 Penn.
The show is garbage. It has lost 70% of its already small audience since it started.
I would guess (as others have I see from older posts) that most of you idiots who “like” the show in fact either work for the NBC or are connected to one of the minor characters and do not want the crappy show to end.
It is terrible and the ratings are miserable.
Love this show! It got better with every episode as you got to know the characters. They dynamics are fantastic which is why it’s such a great sitcom. PLEASE bring this back or you’re making a mistake!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for 1600 Penn. It has kept me laughing the entire season. I want more!
I sure hope it gets another chance. I absolutely loved every episode. The season finale was excellent! I’d like to see it come back just to see how the arrival of the new baby plays out. And Skip – can’t get enough of him!
Other than occasional overill by Josh Gad this show is great. NBC needs to give this show and the viewers sometime. Pleasantly surprised to see such fresh characters. The princess episode 3/28 had several good subplots buzzing. Liking how the kids (except Josh) are so understated. Seriously, the characters are all excellent in their roles. Just tone down Josh alittle – he is however very good as one liners if you listen close.
nbc – give this show some time and give these good actors some good material to work with each week. The show has continued to improve.
Please don’t cancel 1600 Penn. This is the one show my family and I all love. This is one of the few shows on our crappy network that brings joy and laughter to our busy lives. I found myself loving the characters’ quirks and habits. We all laugh out loud at the episodes because America can relate so well to the characters. Skip being funny and well …. weird, but fearless, Becca being the overachiever and she totally messes up, Emily being the worry-wart and tries to make everything perfect because she wants to be accepted into her new family,… Read more »
Great show! Please don’t cancel it!
Love this show…look forward to it every week, It makes my husband and I laugh through the entire show! I hope it’s not cancelled!!!!!
This show is great. I actually catch myself laughing out loud. It should have had it’s finale on a night when there was a new episode of “The Office” being aired. NBC is crazy if they don’t renew the show. They often don’t give enough time for a show to catch on.
Anybody reading these comments, please take the time to go to NBC.com, and click on ‘contact us’ and leave them a comment about renewing the show. Maybe it will help.
This is one of the funniest, most clever and well-written comedies to air in a very long time. If the ratings are disappointing the network, it’s likely because of the poor promotion of the show. The actors should be doing more talk shows, there should be more printed and online. Dear NBC: Please do not be foolish and cancel one of the best projects you’ve done in years.
I agree, I never even knew it existed until i caught it about around the 4th episode. I immediately watch the previous shows on demand and have been watching it since. I absolutely love this show and I hope it gets renewed. Please give it a chance!!! more marketing to promote the show!!
WE LOVE 1600 Penn….PLEASE bring this show back…Each show got beter as the season went on
