The first episode registered a 1.4 in the 18-49 demographic and 9.45 million total viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot, behind Kitchen Nightmares in the demo. However, A Gifted Man easily won the timeslot in terms of total viewers, attracting nearly as many viewers as NBC, ABC, and CW combined.
Year-to-year, Gifted Man matched now-cancelled Medium’s demo number but improved on total viewership by more than 50%. CBS cancelled Medium with an average 1.4 rating so this wasn’t a great start.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the A Gifted Man TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?

Once again excellent, fast pace, reminds me of Ghost Whisperer in the big city.
One of the best new TV shows! It gets better and better and better every week! Hope CBS gives it a chance!
I really like the show. Patrick Wilson is indeed great. However, the dead ex-wife is annoying somewhat because she feels her life’s ambition was more “correct”than the surviving ex’s practice. But, all-in-all, a great show and a keeper!
Love the show! I hope CBS renews it.
I love this show. I don’t want to see it cancelled! Love the story plus patrick Wilson is hot!
I absolutely love this show…….it definitely deserves to be renewed for another season. Please CBS give the good shows a chance,
Thank you, CBS, for Patrick Wilson (OH, those blue eyes!!) in “A Gifted Man”. Love the show! Great cast and writing. PLEASE renew it for another season.
I love this show, it’s so well done, brilliant acting. I hope CBS gives it a chance, maybe give it a different night.
I love this show. I hope CBS keeps it around. It mixes medicine, with spirituality, and issues of helping others less fortunate. The cast members are great and I really enjoy watching it weekly. Keep it Please!
A Gifted Man is one of the few “medically correct” shows that still manages to entertain and inform the viewers. A solid cast and very strong writing, week after week. Don’t let this one be canceled. We are enjoying the journey!
My mom and I love this show! We love the premise of the show and the actors are top notch as well as the guest stars they have on. I hope they keep the show on, it is a great show!!
This is definitely my favorite new show in the last several years. I really hope that they give it more time for others to discover it.
I LOVE this show. It is such an interesting premise and Patrick Wilson is terrific. I hope CBS keeps this show on the air. I think if they moved it to a better slot it the ratings would increase.
I love this show. Its pushing some boundaries with medicine and spirituality. Patrick Wilson is definitely a gifted actor. Please keep it on and bring it back next year.
It would be interesting to know the ages of the posters. The healthy number of viewers but low demo seems to indicate that the show is pretty popular with the more senior viewers.
