Eva Longoria, her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment production company, and Conde Nast Entertainment are producing an untitled political drama for ABC.
Inspired by former San Antonio, TX mayor Julián Castro and twin brother, U.S. Congressman Joaquin Castro, the project features a family of Texas politicians. Revenge‘s Nikki Toscano will write and executive produce.
From Deadline:
The ABC drama is a Texas-sized soap about an ambitious political family with differing agendas loosely inspired by a 2013 Vogue article Pair Of Aces, which profiled Democratic rising-star twins Julián Castro, mayor of San Antonio, and Joaquin, then-newly elected U.S. congressman. UnbeliEVAble and ABC first took a stab at developing a Texas political family drama using the article as source material last season with a different writer. Toscano is writing and will executive produce with UnveliEVAble’s Longoria and Ben Spector and Conde Nast’s Dawn Ostroff. This marks Toscano’s return to ABC where she worked on another primetime soap, Revenge.
Toscano landed her first pilot order in 2014 with CBS’ Red Zone. Her series credits also include A&E’s Bates Motel. She is repped by UTA, manager Carel Cutler and attorney Patti Felker.
