TV show description:
A coming-of-age story, this TV show is based on the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby.
After writing a hit song, Will Freeman (David Walton) didn’t have to worry about working ever again. It brought him a life of free time, free love, and freedom from financial woes. He’s single, unemployed and loving it. He’s seen how the other half live through his best friend — Andy (Al Madrigal), a thoroughly whipped stay-at-home dad — and wants no part of it.
Things get interesting when needy single mom Fiona (Minnie Driver) and her oddly charming 11-year-old son, Marcus (Benjamin Stockham), move in next door to Will and disrupt his perfect world.
When Marcus begins dropping by his home unannounced, Will’s not so sure about being a kid’s new best friend — until Will discovers that women find single dads irresistible. That changes everything and a deal is made: Marcus will pretend to be Will’s son and in return, Marcus is allowed to chill at Will’s house — playing Ping-Pong and gorging on steaks, something his very vegan mom would never allow.
Before he knows it, Will starts to enjoy the visits and even finds himself looking out for the kid. In fact, this newfound friendship starts to teach him a few things about himself and about caring for others.

What do you think? Do you like the About a Boy TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season instead?
I loved this show and I’m really disappointed it has been cancelled. It was fresh, sweet, funny and well written. I never missed an episode. Really sad that a show like this has been dumped but write something with violence, blood, guts and betrayal and it will run forever. Really disappointing.
So many good funny shows keep getting cancelled. Hard to find funny sit-coms now…..TV just isn’t what fun to sit and watch any more….
Love love love this show!!!!
They Cancel all the shows that just make you laugh!! This show was very funny. Or that were interesting, like forever. But they will keep the crap!
Un-real
Such a shame, my roommate and i loved watching this show and were very upset it is cancelled
Please bring back about a boy! Or at least air the 6 unseen episodes.
This was such a great show. I was afraid that the writers would end up doing a love story between Will and Fiona and ruin the premise. This is different from the other shows out there. It’s smart, funny, and warm. I am very upset that this show was cancelled. Especially since it didn’t have a chance to wrap up. Please bring back About A Boy.
It is a great show. We were sad to see it taken off the air. One of the few really good shows a family can watch together.
I Am so Upset! This Was A Great Show W.T.F. People Get A Grip! Some of the Crap You Have on this network & cancel this show???
My wife and I both loved this very cute and funny show. We are extremely disappointed!!! BRING IT BACK!!!!!
Please don’t cancel this show! I love this show Is my favorite
NBC is famous for cancelling good show’s. I cant get NB but was getting show on Hulu.
NBC will never bring the show back. They @#% !
Please don’t cancel! I love this show. I DVR it to watch after my kids are in bed. Ratings should NOT be based on real time TV. That’s not how people watch TV anymore!
I totally agree. They should let you vote online and also check the comments because I haven’t read anything negative about this show. I think this was the best comedy going. I hope they reconsider and bring it back. I could give them a list of shows that they could take off the air and replace it with this one!!!
Please bring back About A Boy. Let Will, Marcus and Fiona continue to surf the ‘air waves’, or maybe it should be the ‘cable wire’ these days. Given the current programing that either recycles the same stale plots or is meant to appeal to the average 5th grader, something fresh and fun — like About A Boy — was a real treat. It went way beyond it’s original ‘movie’ concept and brought forth a fresh and fun program. Too bad that not enough of the public is watching TV in real ‘program’ time, rather than binging on mulitple episodes. Networks… Read more »
Please don’t cancel!! Love this show!!
Me too
I was just surfing to see when ‘About A Boy’ was starting back up. I cannot believe it’s been cancelled. One of the few unique, well written sit-coms in years, the time slot has got to be the reason. Anyone I suggested watch the show loved it. I even watched the reruns and laughed at jokes I missed the first time. What a shame.
