TV show description:
A coming-of-age story, this TV show is based on the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby.
After writing a hit song, Will Freeman (David Walton) didn’t have to worry about working ever again. It brought him a life of free time, free love, and freedom from financial woes. He’s single, unemployed and loving it. He’s seen how the other half live through his best friend — Andy (Al Madrigal), a thoroughly whipped stay-at-home dad — and wants no part of it.
Things get interesting when needy single mom Fiona (Minnie Driver) and her oddly charming 11-year-old son, Marcus (Benjamin Stockham), move in next door to Will and disrupt his perfect world.
When Marcus begins dropping by his home unannounced, Will’s not so sure about being a kid’s new best friend — until Will discovers that women find single dads irresistible. That changes everything and a deal is made: Marcus will pretend to be Will’s son and in return, Marcus is allowed to chill at Will’s house — playing Ping-Pong and gorging on steaks, something his very vegan mom would never allow.
Before he knows it, Will starts to enjoy the visits and even finds himself looking out for the kid. In fact, this newfound friendship starts to teach him a few things about himself and about caring for others.

What do you think? Do you like the About a Boy TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season instead?
it was a great show in my opinion. characters were well drawn out and relatable. probably ahead of its time and not appreciated by the mainstream. too bad. some that made it are silly and unwatchable.
When good shows like this one get cancelled, they wonder why people aren’t watching. I for another one am sick of getting interested in a show only to have “them” cancel it. Obviously there’s no awareness of good writing and quality TV. It’s all about commercials. Maddening.
This was a truly great show. I hate watching something on Netflix only to discover it’s already been cancelled.
I just finished the show on netflix. I loved it and it ended sooooo good. Please come out with season 3
I love this show, please renew it. Don’t know what it is with all the TV stations. You always seem to cancel shows that I and others really like. I am so sick and tired of TV stations not giving new TV shows a chance. There was one one show on another channel that I and others liked and they cancelled after five shows. Give me a break. When you put a new show on a Sunday night at 10:00 p.m., what kind of chance does it have. That was ridiculous cancelling the show after five showings. This TV station… Read more »
I’m so angry.. All the 1s I enjoy are being cancelled.. This one really had a lot of real life situations too, good for kids..
Nice family show well done.
It was a great show that was well done, creative, thoughtful and meaningful. I was sad to see it cancelled like so many other good shows.
Yes, they could have given it more time. It was a very thoughtful, meaningful and funny show.
Like most of the comments, I enjoyed watching this show and was sad when it was not renewed. I think they should have given it more time.
This show was awesome!!! Dealing with Bullying, single parenthood a half way functional family and dating in today’s world!!!!!! It should be put on Netflix WITH an ending!!!!!!! Thanks
