Lifetime has decided that neither of its freshman dramas are worthy of a second season. The cable channel cancelled The Protector in September and they’ve now canned Against the Wall as well.
Against the Wall stars Rachael Carpani as Abby Kowalski, a single cop who joins the Chicago department’s internal affairs division. The series’ co-stars include Andrew Walker, Brandon Quinn, Chris Johnson, Daniel Kash, James Thomas, Kathy Baker, Marisa Ramirez, Mayko Nguyen, Steve Byers, and Treat Williams.
Debuting on July 31st, the show attracted a mediocre 1.8 million viewers with a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, about on par with The Protector. Unfortunately, the numbers didn’t improve throughout the season. The 12th and 13th episodes (now the show’s last) aired on October 23rd. They each drew 1.4 million viewers and 0.4 demo ratings.
Lifetime recently ordered 10 more episodes of successful (and likely ending) Army Wives and also has Drop Dead Diva to help launch new shows. The cable channel has ordered The Client List, with Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising her role from the successful movie. Lifetime also has a few pilots on tap like Modern Love starring Eric Stoltz, American Housewife with Melanie Griffith, and Sworn To Secrecy, a movie and back-door pilot that stars Neve Campbell.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Against the Wall won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think the drama didn’t catch on?

I have been waiting for this series to start it’s second season. I absolutely love it and am very surprised that it is cancelled. I truly think Lifetime should reconsider their decision.
I recorded every episode and watched them twice. It was an excellent show.
i hate that they cancelled against the wall , and my other favorite show , NINE LIVES OF Chloe King ,
Short sighted and impatient! You should have given this great show another season to find its audience! Boo-hiss!
I love the show and wish they would give it another chance.
I am SO disappointed! I never watch weekly shows with my schedule. Against the Wall changed that. I watched every show and when I would have to miss one I would record it. And! If I had forgotten to record it I purchased it from iTunes 🙂 Thanks for a wonderful show. It will be sadly missed.
I loved this show! Too sad they canceled.
I loved the show and thought it had great potential
I can’t believe they canceled against the wall!!! I loved this show it figures you find a.show you enjoy watching & than they don’t make 2nd season, wish I woulve known in advance cause I wouldn’t have wtched it at all.
I can’t believe they cancelled it. The time slot was not convenient for me, so I would watch it on demand. I have been searching the last couple of weeks to no prevail. What a bummer. I really like the show. Couldn’t wait to find out who she chose.
I can’t believe it! One of the better shows on tv…not to mention I was dying to find out who Abby chose!!
i love that show and I wanted to know who Abby chose!
So bummed, ive been waiting all Christmas to find out who she chooses!!
Maybe a lifetime movie to answer this?
I’d love for Lifetime to give the show another chance with better advertising. The cast of actors were great! The story line was entertaining. It was a refreshingly different spin on the typical cop shows offered across the networks.
Hi,
I cannot believe they have cancelled Against the wall. I loved that show.
Hi –
I thoroughly enjoyed Against the Wall. I cannot believe you cancelled it. You left the audience hanging regarding Abby and Brody and Danny. Overall, the show was great. I even recorded it if I was not available to watch on Sunday night to watch it. BRING AGAINST THE WALL BACK. This is an outrage to the audience who enjoyed. At last bring it back Season 2 to wrap up loose ends. It’s the least you could for the loyalists like myself.
A decent non-reality show with a decent story line and quality drama bites the dust! A sad commentary on our society! Bring on “Dance Moms” and the like, because that is such an enriching and highly intellectual broadcast! Time to cancel cable, etc. , who needs reality B. S. tv?
