Velocity is adding another car series to its lineup. The Alex Vega Project will take viewers inside Vega’s custom car business. The series does not yet have a release date, but it will hit the network in 2017.
Velocity released a press statement detailing this new series. Check that out below.
Velocity announced today the greenlight of THE ALEX VEGA PROJECT (wt), an original series from Muse Entertainment, that brings viewers inside the electrifying world of exceptional custom car designer Alex Vega. As the owner of Miami’s wildly popular custom car shop, The Auto Firm, Vega, alongside his wife and family, have created luxury automotive masterpieces for leading athletes, celebrities and international recording artists including Marc Anthony, N.B.A. champion Michael Jordan, undefeated championship boxer Floyd Mayweather, N.Y. Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon, former N.F.L. wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, singer Akon and many, many more. Vega also recently built the hot rides for N.Y. Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes who famously drove them to spring training this past March. THE ALEX VEGA PROJECT (wt) is scheduled to premiere on Velocity in 2Q of 2017.
“Alex has established a car lover’s paradise down in Miami,” said Robert S. Scanlon, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “He’s a self-made business owner who is passionate about delivering high-quality, innovative vehicles for his discerning clientele. The detailed work from The Auto Firm team is exciting, impressive and meticulous. Velocity looks forward to bringing our viewers a closer appreciation of their incredible automotive creations.”
“As a family business, we work together very closely and can’t wait to expand our family by joining Velocity,” said Vega. “The entire Auto Firm team and I are so excited to partner with like-minded, passionate car fans and give viewers a deeper look into our world where truly, there is never a dull moment.”
From a mobile recording studio to a fire-breathing Lamborghini, there is nothing Alex Vega won’t attempt. With his passion brewing at an early age, admiring the “Dukes of Hazzard” 1969 Dodge Charger and the talking car from “Knight Rider”, Vega has 23 years of experience, creates more than 40 customizations per month and has built more than 5,000 cars.
ALEX VEGA PROJECT (wt) is executive produced for Velocity by Jason Fine, Jonas Prupas and Aren Prupas of Muse Entertainment Enterprises. For Velocity, Joshua C. Berkley is executive producer and Robert S. Scanlon is executive vice president and general manager of Velocity and Automotive Content.
