FX has found some nice success with The Americans. Now, NBC is trying their own version of the Russian spy premise called Allegiance. Will it be a hit in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned to find out.
On the Allegiance TV show, Katya and Mark O’Connor (Hope Davis and Scott Cohen) and their daughter Natalie (Margarita Levieva) are part of a dormant Russian sleeper cell that has just been reactivated. Their mission is to turn son Alex (Gavin Stenhouse), an idealistic CIA analyst, into a spy. Others in the cast are Morgan Spector, Kenneth Choi, and Alex Peters.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/6 update: NBC has cancelled and pulled this drama after five episodes. Episodes will be released online.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Allegiance TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
We are watching “The Slap” instead of “Allegiance”??? Sorry, I am so disapointed.
What on earth? I really enjoyed “Allegiance.” Very disappointed about its cancellation. NBC also prematurely cancelled a miniseries last year about the Aldrich Ames case. What, are the Russians offended so NBC is trying not to hurt their feelings? Sheesh.
I’m so pissed that Allegiance was cancelled! I looked forward to Thursday night just to watch it. I mean come on, 5 episodes…that’s ridiculous!! Really losing faith in NBC!!
I was VERY disappointed that NBC gave up on this show so quickly. It’s improving as the episodes pass. It’s certainly better than “The Slap,” and I also prefer it to the similarly themed “The Americans,” which I auditioned when it came out and decided not to watch it. Anyway, my post is to report that episode 6 of “Allegiance” is available at the moment “On Demand” through my cable provider, so it may be available to you somewhere as well. It was a good episode. I hope the rest of the episodes will be available On Demand as well.
I am done with NBC in general. I don’t know why they keep putting good shows on and because they aren’t a huge hit after a couple episodes cancel them. I am not a big tv watcher. I want to watch a good comedy or drama, not the trash tv or reality shows that dominating programming. I was so excited this season because I actually found 5 or 6 new shows that I loved after at least a couple of seasons where there was absolutely nothing that I had any interest in watching. All have been on NBC and all… Read more »
We have enjoyed each episode of Allegiance, and are very disappointed in the network’s decision to cancel the program. We liked the story line, thought it to be written well, and thought each of the actors did an excellent job in their portrayals and toward the believability of their respective characters, and that they contributed well to the fluidity of the story line. We aren’t as critical of the program’s essences as some other viewers seem to be, we simply enjoyed watching the episodes of Allegiance that aired. At this point, we can’t believe the network has cancelled another program… Read more »
This was and could be a great show. Canceling it after 5 shows not really sure why. Hopefully they change their minds and let it come back for the summer
I enjoyed watching Allegiance, but the resemblance to The Americans was striking. Some good points: very good acting, in my opinion. All of the characters deserve congratulations, no slackers there. Further, the idea was not terrible, and it was a bit different in focus, from The Americans, enough of a difference that I eagerly sought an opportunity to watch it, despite having been an earnest observer of the other show for a couple of years. Finally, the lead actor’s script was excellent. Very well written. I also enjoyed the dialogue between his boss and the top spy chaser in the… Read more »
Are you joking? Allegiance is one of the best shows on television. After each episode I could not wait to see what was going to happen the next week. Only 5 episodes is not giving it a chance at all. Now we are all left hanging, not knowing how it would end. That is just not fair.
It is as good as The Americans. Give it time! Promo the show your PR people didn’t do much to get it out there….
I love this show so mad its canceled. never liked americans too graffic
I love this show!!! Best new show this year. Don’t cancel it!!
Love Allegiance, Blacklist, Americans, Justified. These are wonderful, entertaining shows. Allegiance has been especially good. Set your sights a little lower because
there are so many good shows out there today. Competition is tough. Put your show,
like Allegiance, on for at least a second time or showing like some of the others do.
allegiance was never meant for a second time around; while the idea was ok, the outcome would lead to disaster for the whole family; crazy son who would wind up in prison for violating every law in the book, parents and older sister who would be in a worst situation and the younger sister who would be left out in the cold without a family. the biggest problem, as in most series, is (was) the lack of good writers; the writers blew it after the first three episodes. they had no clue where to go with this series.
I tried doesn’t take reply!
This is my #1 new show this season. Hate to see it go!
You do know that there has been a show called “The Americans” on FX. It’s on it’s 2nd or 3rd season. NBC just copied the same concept that was already working for this show.
Except the shows were not the same as you claim. One is based in the present while the other has a 1970s-cold war era setting.
