TV show description:
This sci-fi police drama takes place 35 years into the future, in the year 2048. It’s a world in which police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids.
Detective John Kennex (Karl Urban) is a cop who’s survived one of the most catastrophic attacks ever made against the police department. He wakes up after a 17-month coma. He can’t remember much — except that his partner was killed. He’s lost one of his legs and is now outfitted with a highly sophisticated synthetic appendage. He suffers from depression, mental atrophy, trauma-onset OCD, PTSD and the “psychological rejection of his synthetic body part.”
John returns to work at the encouragement of his longtime ally, Captain Sandra Maldonado (Lili Taylor). Every cop must now be paired with a robot and, despite his passionate aversion to androids, John is no exception.
He’s partnered with a battle-ready MX-43 model. He abruptly terminates this pairing after the robot discovers incriminating information about him. As a result, technician Rudy Lom (Mackenzie Crook) introduces John to Dorian (Michael Ealy), a discontinued android with unexpected emotional responses.
Although these responses were deemed flaws, it’s these “flaws” that John relates to Dorian most — John is part-machine and Dorian is part-human. John and Dorian’s understanding of each other not only complements them, it connects them.
As he adjusts to working with his new partner, John also must learn to get along with his new colleagues, like the sharp and insightful human intelligence analyst Detective Valerie Stahl (Minka Kelly) and Detective Richard Paul (Michael Irby), a distrustful man who doesn’t welcome John back with open arms.
Episode #13 – Straw Man
Kennex and Dorian revisit the past when a string of murders are similar to those committed by a serial killer who was put in jail by Kennex’s father. Dorian gets his first performance review after being reactivated.
First aired: March 3, 2014.
What do you think? Do you like the Almost Human TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for another season?
Bring it back pretty please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best SyFys ever.
Thanks.
I think it was a really good show I hate it was canceled
Please bring it back! Best of the new shows last year!!!
This should have never been canceled! It was never properly promoted, which led to lagging ratings…therefore the claim could be made that it was “too expensive” to make this show. If it had been promoted and fox had thrown their support behind it like they did with “Sleepy Hollow”, it would have had a better chance to get sponsors. Nothing against Sleepy Hollow…love this show, but ” Almost Human” was equally as good with some fantastic star power behind it. It deserved more of a chance to succeed than it received.
Bring it back!
This tv show shouldn’t of been on the chopping block ! It’s a really fun and interesting show ! Why fox killed this show is beyond belief ! They should of kept this on period ! Wow , fox what are you thinking about ? Bring this show back !
With all the idiotic programming this toxic network broadcasts it stands to reason that they would cancel an intelligent, witty, and original show.
Being back Almost Human quickly before the original cast is lost to other projects. The entire 2014 season is bleak and unimaginative. Give a girl a show that is creative and thought provoking. Bring back Almost Human……. PLEASE!
BRING IT BACK! IT WAS FUNNY AND ORIGINAL! FOX ALWAYS CANCELS THE BEST SHOWS =(
Really, really Almost Human is not coming back? Will a “pretty please” help it to return? Come on PLEEEEEEASE bring it back it’s a great show!!!!!
Fox finally came up with something totally creative and new and they cancel it. It wasn’t another, “look at me look at me” show, but a SciFi make you think about morality, ethics, and also teach you of scientific possibilities. It was awesome!!! I hope you sold the rights to a smart network that will pick it up because it has great capabilities. Let them cash in, you obviously don’t know what is good for your network.
Yes, please bring Almost Human back!! First, Fringe is taken off and now this too?! There are too many STUPID shows on the air–please keep at least SOME intelligently entertaining shows on…
Really bring it back it had an Audience,
THEY FINALLY GET A REALLY GOOD SCIFI SERIES WITH A GREAT C AST AND THEY CANCELL IT . WITH SOME OF THE DUMB PROGRAMS STILL ON.
This was a good show ~ they should give it a chance & bring it back!
