Why did Tyra Banks return to America’s Next Top Model? Recently, the host told TV Guide she came back to save the VH1 series from cancellation.
Banks left the show when The CW cancelled it after season 22 in 2015. VH1 revived the model competition show for season 23 with Rita Ora as host and Ashley Graham, Drew Elliott, and Law Roach as judges. Now, Banks will return as host for season 24, possibly alongside former judges Nigel Barker, Miss J. Alexander, and Jay Manuel.
In the interview, Banks said she realized she made a mistake leaving America’s Next Top Model and had to return so it could be successful again:
My fans on social media — and not just my fans, but the fans of the show — were very vocal to a point where I was like, ‘Maybe it was a mistake for me to have walked away? … From a pleasing the fans and then looking at the business side, I think I have to be there for it to continue.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of America’s Next Top Model? Are you glad Tyra Banks is coming back?
