Jane Lynch has had successful runs on Hollywood Game Night and Glee but the same can’t be said for her Angel from Hell sitcom. The CBS TV series has been cancelled after just five episodes reports Deadline. There won’t be a second season and, at this point, it’s unknown if the remaining first season episodes will even air.
Angel From Hell follows what happens when eccentric Amy (Lynch) — a bold, larger-than life woman who claims to be a guardian angel — starts messing with the life of dermatologist Doctor Allison Fuller (Maggie Lawson). Kevin Pollak, and Kyle Bornheimer round out the cast.
The sitcom was initially slated to start airing last November but its debut was delayed until January. The premiere drew a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.13 million viewers. The ratings quickly fell to a 1.3 in the demo with fewer than six million viewers. Word is that there’s also been creative issues behind-the-scenes.
Angel from Hell has been pulled from the schedule and will be replaced by a rerun of The Big Bang Theory this Thursday. Starting next week, 2 Broke Girls will replace the series in the 9:30pm timeslot.
What do you think? Do you like the Angel from Hell TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled? Would you watch the remaining eight installments?
I can’t believe it!! I love all the characters & the premise of the show. Also was disappointed when it didn’t start airing in the fall like originally planned.
Why the constant cancellation of shows after a few episodes!!?!?!! At least do a whole season before deciding. Thank God for Netflix’s original programming or I wouldn’t have consistent flow of shows to enjoy.
Very very disappointed CBS!
I really liked this show!! I am very upset that it is cancelled. Once again our voice isn’t heard.
We really enjoyed Angel from Hell and can’t believe it is being replaced with something as crude as Broke Girls. Why not at least give a program a chance to gain a following?
Thank goodness someone else sees Broke Girls for what it really is. I applaud your taste and judgement!
I liked the quirkiness of the show and was enjoying it. I wish they would have let it run the full 13 episodes.
The show was funny, heartwarming and had a feel good message about life!
I actually LIKED the show. LOVE Jane Lynch and I think she pulls off her role in it quite nicely. Do the networks have ADHD? They can’t even let the first season play out for the viewers who DO watch? THANX for nothing. AGAIN!
Problem was this show tried to be as vulgar as Two and a Half Men but Jane Lynch just wasn’t believable as a creep unlike how Charlie Sheen made a convincing creep because he really is one.
I have to say I watched the show but found it very slow and not extremely funny. Were there times it was funny? Yes, most of the Jane Lynch and the Brother bantering about getting together was funny, But a lot more of it was not funny at all. The last episode I saw with the “Other” Angel had the chance to pull it up and add a recurring theme to the show, other Angels bumping into each other and chatting about their charges, but I suspect that was not in the cards. Oh, the Dad complaining about Jane Lynch… Read more »
I Never watch sit-coms. However, I really liked this one. The whole cast is GREAT!! LOVE JANE LYNCH!!
I didn’t think I would like it but watched it anyway. I actually liked it and am sorry to see it go so quickly. So sad.
We wanted to like this show because we like Jane Lynch… but we couldn’t get to the first commercial break of the first episode. It was that bad.
This is why I never watched Angel From Hell since the beginning and it was downright horrible. Thank you CBS for cancelling a very bad sitcom in more ways than one.
UGH another show I like being canceled they don’t even give shows a chance anymore they cancel after just 3 shows.
darn it
Yes, the show could be better. Yes, Jane Lynch’s talent is underutilized. But it’s still pretty funny, and certainly towers above the crass, no-class Broke Girls. Why not at least air completed episodes instead of reruns in their timeslot? *Sigh* Yet another head-up-a$$ executive decision.
They might do that, but NO STATION is going to do it in primetime and lose viewers. They will do it on a down night that no station cares about like Saturday evenings.
I Agree but same as utopia and red band society. I’m sick of being done this way as a veiwer , no warning or anything with utopia, I had just sent in more money for the 24/7 coverage live stream then the next week cancel cancelled, William viewers should have some way to speak up to the big guys and let him know its not fair. To waste our time to be let down. Maybe we might get somewhere if there was like a hotline or a vote on Twitter as the show aired. Thanks for your time we’ll see… Read more »
Yeah, another viewer with exceptional taste!
