The kingdom will continue its reign. According to The Hollywood Reporter, TNT has renewed Animal Kingdom for a second season.
The drama stars Ellen Barkin as Janine “Smurf” Cody, the head of a Southern California crime family. The cast also includes Finn Cole, Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Daniella Alonso, and Molly Gordon.
Only a few episodes into its freshman season, the show has earned low-but-steady ratings, with an average of .41 int he 18-49 demo and 1.190 million viewers.
From TNT executive Sarah Aubrey:
Animal Kingdom has signaled the new tone for TNT dramas and is moving the network in the direction we hoped it would. I’m confident that our strategy of working with high-caliber talent and then getting out of their way will continue to pay off.”

Great series, it definitely should be renewed. Ellen Barkin is a wonderful actress who we don`t see enough of.
I am glad it was renewed. I like Good Behavior better but this show has been ok to watch. I assume younger viewers like it as they can relate better to the story line. Acting is good.
I saw a trailer for this at the movies, went home and watched the pilot…I was hooked. I told all my friends, they are now all hooked. This family is so bad, you got to love them and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Thank you, Thank you for bring back.
This show is a dream come true. I would be extremely disappointed if it was canceled.
I watched it for Ellen Barkin,and stayed for all the crazies. By the end, the kid, J, was potentially the most frightening of all. The cast is doing great portraying truly deranged personalities. It is the most intense series I’ve seen, and ppl probably love it or hate it, no in between, just like the characters. I can’t wait to see what they are up to next!

My husband I loved the show. We told all our friends to watch it. Can’t wait for it to start again.
All of the actors and actresses are great and portray their characters perfectly. We are glad the program is coming back. We got our daughter and son in law to watch. Very good.
