Annika will not be returning to UK television screens. According to Radio Times, the series has been canceled after two seasons on UKTV and the BBC. The series aired on PBS in the US. This means the series will end on a cliffhanger.
When asked about the series, a spokesperson for UKTV said, “We are incredibly proud of the success of Annika on U&Alibi, but there are no current plans for a third series.”
Nicola Walker, Katie Leung, Jamie Sives, Ukweli Roach, and Kate Dickie star in the series, which follows Annika and her team as they investigate crimes as a part of the fictional Glasgow-based Marine Homicide Unit.

One of the best television series for a very long time and it’s discontinued?!
Well, whoever made this decision sucks. I hate leaving the case with her dad unsolved. Plus I love Nicola Walker and her breaking the 4th wall was cool.
Damn! have been looking forward to Season 3 for a long time. Nicola is my most favorite British actress.

“Annika,” and was eagerly awaiting the resolution to the question of exactly how her father was involved in the crime she had been investigating.A HUGE disappointment; please reconsider!
Breaking the 4th wall and being spoken to by the main character was fabulous! I also loved how the stories Annika told were woven into the current case. I’m currently watching reruns of series 1 for the 3rd time and still loving every moment. And I was dying to see how Annika would deal with the series 2 revelation, Michael AND Jake??? Brilliant writing and wonderful acting by ALL!!! SOOOO SAD!!!!!!!
I like her, but the show was annoying as hell. She plays down in the dumps characters well, and it’s always interesting hearing Katie Leung’s Scottish accent.
Please reconsider. To have an intelligent and funny quality program like this canceled is egregious. We need programs like this that lift the level of TV generally offered.
