Annika will not be returning to UK television screens. According to Radio Times, the series has been canceled after two seasons on UKTV and the BBC. The series aired on PBS in the US. This means the series will end on a cliffhanger.
When asked about the series, a spokesperson for UKTV said, “We are incredibly proud of the success of Annika on U&Alibi, but there are no current plans for a third series.”
Nicola Walker, Katie Leung, Jamie Sives, Ukweli Roach, and Kate Dickie star in the series, which follows Annika and her team as they investigate crimes as a part of the fictional Glasgow-based Marine Homicide Unit.

I have been waiting for season 3, so disappointed! Loved this show and the characters! Please bring back. Of all the PBS shows this is the one I watch over the most.
Annika is one of the best British mystery shows I have ever seen. I am very disappointed that it is not being renewed.

I loved the show. Really disappointed it’s been canceled. The acting is great, stories are unusual and interesting, and the Shakespearean asides to the audience really enhance the stories. Is it too creative for the BBC?
I’m just now finding this out about Annika not being renewed. Since the second season ended on such an interesting cliffhanger, I was certain there would be a third season. That’s disappointing to hear there won’t be one, and there’s no reason being given as to why that is. My only issue is that it took so long just to finally admit that season 3 wasn’t happening.
I liked the Annika series. The talking and looking directly at the camera was great. It brought you into the program as if she was speaking to you. Brilliant.
I hope BBC changes its mind. I really enjoyed watching this show. The actors are so talented and the stories were unique. Please, bring it back!

I was really hoping to see more of this show. We enjoyed it immensely. All of the characters had great back stories and the actors were doing a wonderful job.
Maybe someone else could pick this up.

I hope they reconsider and make Season 3. One of best shows ever. Not the same old knock off stuff. Unique, great actor, great writing, and Amazon scenery.
No season 3?! Come on! Nicola Walker is brilliant. Whole cast is great. Better than any other crime drama of the made in a while. I’ve watched both seasons twice. Who’s making these decisions??

This is terrible news! Please change your mind. Annika is such a good show. So different and engaging. I was so looking forward to a new season.
Wonderful, clever humor and dialogue. Beautifully combined history and literary lessons in suspenseful mysteries. Not to mention how successfully they break the third wall! Why wouldn’t such a show be continued?!
