Aquarius will not air its second season on NBC until later this year, but the future already has its future planned out. David Duchovny, who stars on the NBC series, spoke about the future of the NBC drama during an interview with Variety.
How many seasons does Aquarius want to have on the air? Five, according to Duchovny. He said:
“John McNamara, the creator and showrunner, has five 13-episode seasons in mind,” he says. “If we’re lucky and enough people get involved and watch us, we’ll get to do five. It would be a shame not to. The investment is in the first couple of years, heading towards the catastrophic events of the Tate-LaBianca murders with the Manson family. It’s really the aftermath of that that’s the heart of the show. I hope we get to do it.”
Just yesterday, TV Series Finale reported that Amanda Brooks had been cast in the role of Sharon Tate. Are you a fan of this NBC drama? Would you like to see five seasons? Tell us what you think.
Hope it does not get cancelled! Would love to see this show go forward – think that the post Tate/Bianca murders can capture a lot of important history re the psychology of the Manson ‘family’.
Discovered the show on Netflix and just finished season 01 and really enjoyed it. Duchovny is doing some fine acting as Hodiak. He’s definitely in his zone. I certainly hope that NBC is able to justify numbers-wise to let the entire five-season story arc play out or Netflix pick up the production if NBC panicks.
Love it, just finished binge watching 1st season on Netflix! I Think it’s too hard to really rate how well a shows going to do during it’s first season especially now where there is binge watching, people hate commercials. More wait so they can watch it without commercials on Netflix, even on Hulu where they can pay extra a month and have no commercials. I really believe a Lotta good shows are being canceled without really being given a great shot.
Definitely enjoying this show. The only one I’ve watched as of late.
Love this show
I am loving this series
Just finished bingeing Season 1 on Netflix. I love this show! I especially love that it is uncensored. It allows the writers to really dig into the grit of the time. I was Emma’s age in 1967, and can say that it truly captures the late 1960’s. I have already recommended this show to family and friends. I know they have to tone it down for broadcast television, but I hope they continue to create the edgier version as well.
I am loving this series, The fact that it is on Netflix even better I can watch it anytime, Love the era and the fact that Manson was tied to Politicians and Musical industry… The creepiness of a master mind of pure puppetry and mind washing, preaching candy coated love and power with an overshadowing of pure darkness.
Just finished binge watching this. Really well written!
I just got done binge watching this. Great show and writing.
I would love to see 5 seasons. The series is addictive even though I know what happened in history.
I would love to see five seasons. Excellent show.
Yes! I’d like to see 5 seasons. I’ve watched Season 1 and really liked the show. Historical events are interesting and reminiscint of the 60’s. Acting and casting are great.
My wife and I really liked the show and we’re happy to see it return….
Absolutely forward thinking on the part of NBC executives to air Aquarius ad-free. Season 1 gave us a great backdrop to all the characters and looking forward to season 2 and how it all plays out with the Manson murders and David Duchovny’s character and his “old fashion” police tactics. There certainly is enough information to give this five seasons.
