Last season, NBC tried a very unconventional approach with Aquarius by releasing the entire season online and then airing episodes on television. Supposedly, most people still watched the show on TV (to low ratings). Will the show perform any better in season two? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
Set in 1960s Los Angeles, Aquarius, revolves around the generational conflict between an experienced homicide detective (David Duchovny) and an idealistic undercover vice cop (Grey Damon). The rest of the cast includes Gethin Anthony, Emma Dumont, Claire Holt, Michaela McManus, Brian F. O’Byrne, Chance Kelly, Cameron Deane Stewart, and Madison Beaty.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/2 update: NBC has cancelled Aquarius after two seasons. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Because the first three episodes aired without commercials, their numbers weren’t included in the final ratings. For that reason, we only have the fast affiliates.
For comparisons: The first season of Aquarius averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.79 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Aquarius TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Finally found a show worth watching please do not cancel this! Happy to hear it will be back Saturday
Just read that its coming back on Saturday, August 28! So glad, since there was no explanatio what was going on.
This is why tv shows get cancelled. They get pulled and then you lose track of them and have no way of knowing when they will return. This is a great show. Bring it back NBC!
Love this show. Can’t wait to see the last couple of episodes!
A wonderful serie. We enjoy it very much on Netflix
I really enjoy the show but I do not understand why a new episode was not aired on July 28th. Has it been cancelled ?
My hubby and I love the unique show Aquarius and the characters.
Keep it coming!
David Duchovny is fabulous and I love his subtle nuances.
We enjoy this period of shows.
Anyone know when episodes are returning? Are they going to keep viewers in the dark? Does the network care about ratings because keeping the show off the air with no news is stupid…………
I really like Aquarius. Great show. I don’t understand why NBC said it would be back July 28 & it wasn’t. Are they going to show any more episodes? I can’t find any info on it.
I love aquarius please keep it I hope you put it back on it was supposed to be back on tonight but it’s not listed on the line-up I am very sad now it is one of the best shows on TV now days please please please put it back on
I Love Aquarius, Please Don’t Cancel this Show. David Duchovny is such a good actor.
The guy who is “bored” with his wife because she had four babies, but still “loves” her, please take a look in the mirror. No babies…not looking good. Hmmm….who are the writers on this show????
I really enjoyed watching the 1st season on Netflix and got caught up on the 2nd season in one evening on NBC. I’m addicted and can’t wait to see the next episode. Please continue to the 5 th season! It would be a shame to not finish the story as there is so much more to be told.
Why not just renew this piece of you know what? If a show with a 0.11 rating can be renewed, why not this? If they send episodes to Netflix, they might just like it and bring it back again.
They’ve already recorded some sections of Aquarius: Season Two. So why not send them final episodes on Netflix.
