Baby Daddy recently had additional episodes added to its fifth season order by ABC Family, so there is no chance of the series being cancelled yet. However, there has been a delay in production of the series starring Jean-Luc Bilodeau. Production was scheduled for a break next week, so the series is taking their break from production earlier than planned.
Variety reported on Monday that production on the series would be delayed due to an injury that happened to Bilodeau over the weekend. The series is allowing him to recover and readjusting the production schedule for the series to accommodate the actor.
As of right now, there will not be an impact on the series’ return date. The series will return with new episodes on February 3.
A spokesperson released the following statement to Variety:
“Jean-Luc Bilodeau, star of ABC Family’s ‘Baby Daddy’ suffered a non-life threatening injury on Saturday night. He is expected to make a full recovery. The ‘Baby Daddy’ production schedule is being rearranged to accommodate him.”
Update: It was subsequently reported that Bilodeau was attending a Halloween party thrown by co-star Tahj Mowry. Bilodeau’s alpaca costume, made of cotton balls and lycra, caught fire when he accidentally backed into a tiki torch. His arms and legs were burned and he was treated at a hospital but again, he is expected to make a full recovery.
