It appears that Battle Creek has lost the ratings war. The low-rated Sunday night police series has been cancelled by CBS.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The show debuted on March 1st to a disappointing 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.92 million viewers. The numbers got even worse in later weeks and has fallen to lows of a 0.7 demo rating and fewer than six million viewers.
Those numbers aren’t good enough for CBS to order a second season so they’ve now cancelled it.
There are four unaired episodes remaining and the last installment is currently scheduled to air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for season two?
no way I love this show it is really interesting
you should keep it on
Cancelling Battle Creek is why I spend most of my viewing time on cable channels. They give a new show time to develop and that formula works.
Love this show! Please don’t cancel. One of the few good new shows.
Love the show. Very disappointed, could have at least shown the first season before you jumped the gun. No likey CBS.
Renew
Can not believe they cancelled this show! It was not promoted well, it is one of the shows I looked forward to. I’m tired of the trash television that seems to have taken over the major networks, not everyone wants Scandal, Housewives, Kardadians and other Shock based TV. Abc family seems to be about the only safe choice, when the major networks strive to be as krass and classless as A & E and Bravo.
The show didn’t have much of a chance running at the same time as Mad Men. It would have been easier to stream had it been on Hulu, but you had to hook up laptop to watch the show. This show is better than a lot that is on TV but it was given a lousy time slot.
CBS try this great show on another night too good to cancel Love it.
I’m so disappointed that, once again, a well -written intelligent series is on the chopping block. There are so many mediocre to poor programs (“Mysteries of Laura”comes to mind) that are given the opportunity to establish a following. You plugged this show into a late Sunday night slot and now your pulling the plug without even attempting to give it a chance on a different night and time. I would urge you to reconsider your decision and give it a second chance.
I liked it because it was different than other crime stoppers. Battle Creek as a setting was unique and interesting. CBS acted too hastily in canceling the show. If NBC had done this with “Law and Order” they would not have had a long run. Give it a chance
No…they can not cancel this one! This is a fantastic show with a great cast and story lines.
It is too good to just discard. Change the night and time. This is definitely a keeper.
Please don’t cancel. We love it. Just put it on another night. Too many choices on Sunday nite.
Finally a show worth watching. Fantastic cast, great story lines, very much worth watching. DO NOT cancel. There are still some intelligent people out there that watch television. The more reality shows there are, the less there is for us to watch. To lose Battle Creek would be a loss to quality television shows.
Adding my hopes that Battle Creek will be given a second chance. It is DIFFERENT! The characters, storyline and feel it just needs a second chance to find its spot. Please remember it was also up against the basketball play offs. Thank you.
I love this show and hate to see it go.
