TV show description:
Based on the BBC show of the same name, this TV series follows a trio of twenty-something roommates who happen to be a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf. They struggle to keep their dark secrets from the world while also helping each other navigate the complexities of living double lives.
Aidan Waite (Sam Witwer) has been a vampire since the Revolutionary War and now works as a nurse at Suffolk County Hospital in Boston. He likes having in a job where he can do some good and help people. He also finds comfort in helping lay people to rest, helping them find the peace in death that he will never know.
Funny and neurotic, Josh Levison (Sam Huntington) saw his bright future hijacked when he was turned into a werewolf. He had to abandon his family and the life he’d once known with no explanation. He established a lonely existence on the fringes of society, escaping to the woods each full moon for his excruciating transformation into a werewolf.
When he met Aidan, Josh started to relax and was able to begin rebuilding a somewhat normal life. With Aidan’s help, Josh secured a job as an orderly in the hospital. Though it’s nothing close to the future he had in medical school, Josh takes solace that at least he’s working in the medical profession.
Growing up, Sally Malik (Meaghan Rath) was often forced to be tough and, as a result, she became a young woman who wouldn’t take a lot of flack. She’s vivacious, smart, funny and driven. Sally envisioned herself working at the United Nations or, at the very least, going to graduate school. While in college, she fell in love with Danny and they became engaged right after graduation.
Sally and Danny (Gianpaolo Venuta) moved into the townhouse that was to later be occupied by Josh and Aidan. After Sally’s premature death, she begins haunting it as a ghost. Her early demise finds her floundering for answers.
James Bishop (Mark Pellegrino) is armed with power and knows how to use it. Bishop is above the law as lieutenant and leader of a vicious vampire legion in Boston. And though his devoted cronies cater to his every whim, Bishop won’t rest until he’s able to lure Aidan back into his fold of thirsty blood hunters.
Episode #52 — There Goes the Neighborhood – Part III
Sally makes a major sacrifice to keep two of her roommates from killing each other.
First aired: April 7, 2014.
What do you think? Do you like the Being Human TV series on Syfy? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
When I found out this show was cancelled – I felt my heart drop. This was my favorite show on the Syfy channel. Really good acting and good story lines that draw you into their struggle. This should have been renewed; four seasons just isn’t enough, at all.
Good going syfy finally a show the whole family likes and you take it off the air. Defiance, Dominion, Merlin, and Being Human if you are trying to loose ratings you are doing a good job. The only thing left is to eliminate Syfy itself. YAH SYFY
I recently found this wonderful show on Netflix. I blew through the episodes so quickly it’s rediculious! I wish it was still on. So good!!
Should have stayed
I’m heartbroken being human was canceled. It will be a while before I can watch another tv series. I feel like I lost a group of friends 🙂
This show both here and on BBC needs to return!!!
Agreed!!
Bring them back! One of the best series on SYFY… Wtf…
Great show..they should renew
They should renew it..love the series.
I need being human this show is the only reason I watch TV please bring it back I need widen, josh, and sally
Bring back Being Human. Sally is too amazing to not further explore.
I have no idea why they’d cancel “Being Human” (US) when they could always cancel ANY number of shows & I would be pleased. There’s only a few reasons I watch TV nowadays. Here’s a list of shows (some brand spankin’ new, some cancelled & some yet for renewal…I hope) that I love & have enjoyed watching • True Blood (which is going off the air as well. I’m hating life already.) • The Secret Circle (this one I still have hope will be picked up by Syfy.) • Supernatural (they could go to season 20, I’d still watch as… Read more »
I can’t believe that Being Human is not being renewed. It was a great show and the actors really did work well together. The chemestry between all of them was what I looked forward to every week. I agree with ChadUP, with all three characters there could be endless possibilities on story lines to explore. I will miss you, Being Human 🙁
I loved the combo, I know sometimes with the threre main characters their were one too many different storylines to follow.. but lack of ratings? come on… from what i gather it was no award-winning series but come-on it was a vamp, werewolf and a ghost… literally endless amounts of storylines and angles they could have followed and based on the digging i did, It wasnt a ratings issue, something to do with the producers and money.. big surprise right? but you dont give the mon. night 9pm timeslot to a flop! and the “lack of money” please… have you… Read more »
