Last season’s Thursday editions of Big Brother drew bigger ratings than the previous year’s. Will the numbers continue to climb or will they drop? Will CBS renew it for a 17th season? Could it possibly be cancelled? Time will tell.
Big Brother typically airs three nights a week — Wednesdays (veto), Thursdays (eviction), and Sundays. Julie Chen is the host once again.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/24 update: CBS has renewed Big Brother for two more seasons, through Summer 2016.
9/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: Last summer’s Thursday night editions averaged a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.4 million viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the Big Brother TV series? Do you watch consistently? Should it be cancelled or renewed for another year?
If Les Monves has a say in this, I am sure the show will be renewed, these are still good ratings for a summer reality TV show, and good for CBS – so I am fairly certain it will be,
and Julie Chen will still have a job 😛 and Julie’s husband will be happy 😀
I have watched Big Brother since inception and this is the most boring season ever. I don’t think its time to sign off, but it needs to be revitalized through the challenges to require “big moves”. The house guests this year are all followers and no one has stepped up to change the game or be the monumental jerk or super player….boring!
This is by far the most boring and predictable season of Big Brother. The guys have created an atmosphere similar to a frat house and it is not entertaining in the least. Kudos to the frat boys for keeping the core members of their alliance in the game to the end but again…boring. The most exciting eviction of the year was Devin’s eviction. Unfortunately it happened way too early in the game. Having super-fans play the game rather than regular people is a mistake. They all know the competitions, etc. and that does not lead to entertaining programming. Adding several… Read more »
I love Big Brother but this is the most boring cast ever and I hate how production has been manipulated this year. I had total trust that this was a fair and impartial show until the comp was rigged so that Frankie could win the competition on his own. you’ve lost me !!
HATE the two HOH twist.
Two days of this crud? How dreadful.
