Even though The Blacklist TV show’s ratings have dropped significantly each year, NBC still renewed it for a fifth season. Meanwhile, the spin-off — The Blacklist: Redemption — was cancelled after just one installment. At the end of this season, the original series should have well over 100 episodes in the can — more than enough for an attractive syndication package. Is this the end of the road for the Concierge of Crime? Will The Blacklist be cancelled or renewed for season six? Stay tuned.
An action thriller, The Blacklist stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Kattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marnò, and Hisham Tawfiq. The NBC crime drama centers on one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (Spader). He offers to help the authorities, if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Boone) partners with him. In season five, Red is in the process of rebuilding his criminal empire, with her at his side. Although she’s still working for the Feds, Liz is sorely tempted to indulge her more criminal side. **Status update below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of The Blacklist averaged a 0.99 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.284 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Blacklist TV series? Did you expect it to be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season on NBC? When do you think it should end?
**5/12/2018 Status Update: The Blacklist is renewed for season six on NBC. Details here.
Love this show. Somehow I missed it in the beginning but now I have gotten hooked and caught up watching it and can’t wait till the next one. So if it’s like NBC always does with everything I like I’ I’m sure it will get canceled, but if it does I won’t be happy, again! Would love to see Some quirky thing where Red actually had Tom saved.
I would come back to watch if they just gave Ressler more stories with Red and “keenler” with Liz. Season 1 is the best!
I don’t have cable or a television & this is the only TV show that I watch. I love it so much I’ve watched every episode a minimum of 3 times. NBC would be foolish not to renew it at least for season six even if it were sadly the last season.
Please don’t take this program off absolutely love it best ever love reddington

Season 6 is a must! By far the best show of this genre. This and Legion are the only programs that I watch.
Renew!!!!! One of the smartest shows on tv. Great cast, and James Spader is pure gold.
