The ratings for The Blacklist TV show took another big hit last season, dropping nearly 40% in the same day demo ratings. Now that the drama series will have enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package, will this NBC series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of The Blacklist averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
5/11 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a fifth season. Details here.
I love this show, please continue!
I love this show. I own three out of the four seasons on DVD and it is my favorite show ever. My mom and I watch it together.
Please renew it!
My husband and I love this show and would really like you to renew it. We also like NCIS.
The show should be re-newed, but it does need a slight re-tool to get it’s viewership back up. We were sucked in by the mystery surrounding Red and Liz. It is now well past time to define it and evolve it. Another note is that nobody cares about the family life of Liz and Tom. We 18-49 either already have our own kid(s) or are avoiding doing so. Give us the thing we come to you for. We tune in to see Red and his ilk do good in morally ambiguous ways. More of that and fewer conflicted diaper changers.
Renew, it’s a great series. The cast is outstanding and it would be a shame to put a stop to a good thing. Ratings are not always the way to determine renew or cancel. More people are watching than you think.
I truly hope this show is renewed. It’s one of my all time favorite shows.
Love the show please keep on
renew
Renew!! For sure…
renew
Please renew! It’s one of my favorites.
Show turned stupid. Red shot Mr. Kaplan in the back of the head with a 45 and she lives ?? if she was shot in the foot in a hospital parking lot she would probably die. Show turned stupid now Tom has secret parents ? Could the writers drag out Liz and Reds connection maybe he met her at a circus and that is why he thinks she is so cool
I hope you listen to your viewers and renew this very well written show.
Please keep it on
please renew this show it’s amazing. want to know what happens next in series 5 I’ve watched them all and need more lol
