The ratings for The Blacklist TV show took another big hit last season, dropping nearly 40% in the same day demo ratings. Now that the drama series will have enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package, will this NBC series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of The Blacklist averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
5/11 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a fifth season. Details here.
Judy. Please don’t cancel. Spader is a gift to watch.
Cancel. It used to be an excellent well written show, but now it’s a shell of itself all for the sake of propping up Tom and his “redemption.” Yawn
Please keep the show going. One of the best shows on TV.
Don’t cancel! Best show on TV
Used to love the show, but it got boring with the whole Liz pregnancy, kidnapping, daddy drama. It should have stuck with the original villain of the week premise.
Love this show. It is not mindless dribble. Please keep it on. It would be one mind blowing twist to find out Red is really Elizabeth’s biological father
Please don’t cancel, Only series I Look Forward To watching,Love James Spader but now the rest of the cast is stepping up and getting better story lines every series hits a slump, they are well on there way of coming back ,better than ever ,last episode the post office crew carried it and did really well
I have not watched the first episode of 2017, but I hope Liz’ ‘Who’s your Daddy’ story line is over. This storyline detracts from the better part of The Blacklist which is the criminal element storyline, seeing who they are, how they are taken down and how Red benefits.
Please keep the blacklist on air it is a great show and I love it thank you
There are many shows that have been going on for 8 and 9 seasons that NEVER offer what The Blacklist offers each week. Best show I’ve ever been addicted to! PLEASE PLEASE keep it going.
RENEW LOVE THIS SHOW
I loved the show and most definitely would like for them to keep the show on. I made sure I had no other plans so that I could watch the show
The Blacklist is amazing.. From the first episode i became completely addicted… I really hope it stays on the air for many more seasons. I just hope NBC doesn’t change the actors.. Many shows do this, but nobody can play Raymond Reddington better than James Spader
Definitely renew the show ..I absolutely love Red ..please don’t cancel,my Fridays won’t be worth living
Absolutely renew…amazing cast, brilliantly written and conceived scripts, and beautifully produced. Please NBC, don’t drop the ball on this very special levies.
