If you thought a sitcom based on the Geico Cavemen was strange, one that’s based on a Twitter feed seems really crazy. $#*! My Dad Says also certainly wins the prize for having the most awkward title in TV history (CBS maintains that it should be read as Bleep My Dad Says). In any case, the show finally debuted last week. How did it do in the Nielsen ratings? Will it last or be quickly cancelled?
$#*! My Dad Says revolves around a young struggling writer who’s out of money and must move in with his cranky and opinionated father. The new TV show stars William Shatner, Jonathan Sadowski, Will Sasso, Nicole Sullivan, and Stephanie Lemelin.
In its first week on CBS, $#*! My Dad Says did very well, despite some poor reviews. In its Thursday night timeslot, the sitcom attracted a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 12.58 million total viewers. That was enough to put the show in first place in both categories.

On the negative side, though a 4.0 rating is still great, it did lose almost 20% of its lead-in audience in the demographic. The Big Bang Theory scored a 4.9 rating.
The real question will be to see how many viewers return to watch week after week. The show is obviously benefiting from its timeslot, sandwiched between Big Bang and CSI. With such a great timeslot, the network’s expectations are high but for now, $#*! My Dad Says certainly looks safe from cancellation.
But, what do you think? Is $#*! My Dad Says worth watching week after week? Should it be kept or cancelled?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…I absolutely LOVED this show….the replacement is horrible…since I won’t be able to suffer through it I guess I’ll mis CSI now too since I’ll be snoring by the time it comes on…this is really a very sad day…
I really like Bleep my dad says and was very disappointed it was taken off for something I didn’t like watching before and will switch channels when it comes on now. CBS had a good one in Bleep and some dork decided it needed to go, well it went and so did I.
Sorry, folks. My show has been canceled. The title offended too many people and could not be searched on most cable boxes due to the lack of non-alpha characters. If they had just called it “Crap The Price Line Negotiator Says” and brought in my man Big Deal, it would have been a hit! Kahhhhhhhhhhhhn!
in my eyes it was a true hit…I loved it
There are so many BAD shows on TV now. This is the one show I really like to watch.
Please don’t cancel it.
Bleep My Dad Says is hilarious, I hope it does not get canceled, Shatner is great and I can relate to his character. I hope that this show is given more time to catch on.
I’m from the generation before the baby boomers and I really love this show as well as the big bang theory. My station has just put another show in Bleep my dad says time slot. I hope that are moving it to another time slot and not canceling it.
I really injoy watching @# dad says where did the show move to what night? I hope they are moving the show to another night not canceling it. PLEASE thanks
Great Show–PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL–I only watch TV on Thursday Night because of Bleep My Dad Says==There are way too many reality shows.
My Husband and I really enjoy William Shatner and the Cast of Bleep My Dad Says. Please do not cancell this show. T.V. today is so geared towards the younger crowd. We need more shows that “Baby Boomers” can enjoy for a change.
We love this show! We look forward to this show every Thursday! PLEASE don’t cancel this show!
i hope you dont cancel, bleep my dad says.it is a great show.
DON’T!!!! Cancel this show PLEASE!! We love it!!! I work nights but I tape it so I can watch it!! Thrus is one of my favorite TV nights.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! DONT take it off!! It is so funny and I just love William S.. In this part. Thank you!!
This is a great show. The hour of The Big Bang Theory and Bleep My Dad says is one of the most entertaining hours on television. The Baby Boomer generation gets this show, it should stay.
Keep the show. William Shatner is extremely funny. It is refreshing to see a light hearted comedy show as there are currently too many reality shows airing. I greatly enjoy &&&& my dad says.
I think you need time for the characters personalities to come out. Although in the beginning I thought some jokes were offensive. I see towards the end the show is evolving and is quite funny. Please give it more time, I love it and all the characters!
I say leave the show on but work on getting rid of the older son and daughter-in-law. They just don’t work in the comedy genre. Wm. Shatner and younger son would be good. They’re going through what a lot of parents with kids moving back home are experiencing. A lot of viewers can relate to that.
