If you thought a sitcom based on the Geico Cavemen was strange, one that’s based on a Twitter feed seems really crazy. $#*! My Dad Says also certainly wins the prize for having the most awkward title in TV history (CBS maintains that it should be read as Bleep My Dad Says). In any case, the show finally debuted last week. How did it do in the Nielsen ratings? Will it last or be quickly cancelled?
$#*! My Dad Says revolves around a young struggling writer who’s out of money and must move in with his cranky and opinionated father. The new TV show stars William Shatner, Jonathan Sadowski, Will Sasso, Nicole Sullivan, and Stephanie Lemelin.
In its first week on CBS, $#*! My Dad Says did very well, despite some poor reviews. In its Thursday night timeslot, the sitcom attracted a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 12.58 million total viewers. That was enough to put the show in first place in both categories.

On the negative side, though a 4.0 rating is still great, it did lose almost 20% of its lead-in audience in the demographic. The Big Bang Theory scored a 4.9 rating.
The real question will be to see how many viewers return to watch week after week. The show is obviously benefiting from its timeslot, sandwiched between Big Bang and CSI. With such a great timeslot, the network’s expectations are high but for now, $#*! My Dad Says certainly looks safe from cancellation.

Bleep My Dad Says , is a great comedy show. Especially after you introduced Jean Smart. Bet if you kept her in it as his sly girlfriend the ratings would be higher. Big mistake canceling this show.
I’ve never been a super fan of William Shatner but I LOVE him in this show. You have to keep it going, he makes me laugh out loud, even when I’m alone. It’s a great show to have follow Big Bang Theory, another of my favorites.
Religiously TiVo’ed this show to watch on Friday mornings with my husband. Its the only day of the week we get to eat breakfast together. To our sad surprise the show finished! 🙁
Friday morning breakfast will never be the same! I will never know what happened with Vince and Bonnie’s pregnancy. How was the relationship between Ed and his neighbor going to untangle itself? Does Henry EVER get a steady girlfriend? Will Tim be the maid forever??
Questions that will never be answered! Cry!
Please do not cancel the show. I looked forward to watching it each Thursday. It was hilarous in spots–and very funny in the rest.
The show is awesome, not as good as big bang theory but still good and it left off on a epic cliffhanger

Networks or becoming cancel crazy. Perhaps Networks make more money off the SPONSORS by airing so many new shows. Networks are airing lots of new shows,about ever 4 months. and being canceled shortly after. Then they repeating this process Perhaps to keep us confused. A diversion, hoping we want notice most of the show want be coming back. Then giving us some bs about Neilsen rating. U just have to keep the show going. It’s a blast and my husband an I watched every Thursday without fail, never missed a show. Please don’t cancel the show, we need a good laugh in this day and time, dont take it away from us!!
