Last season, the ratings for Blue Bloods rose when compared to the previous season. Will they continue to rise or will they fall. Will this CBS show be renewed for a sixth season or will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, and Marisa Ramirez.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: Blue Bloods has been renewed for a sixth season on CBS.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Blue Bloods averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.52 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Blue Bloods TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a sixth season?
There are plenty of channels that promote and focus on “family values and religion”. Why don’t YOU focus on these instead of police/crime drama. Obviously most of these comments come from the evangelical right.
Blue bloods is the best show on CBS and TV for that matter. It is truly a family show and should be renewed.
I love the Blue Bloods it is the best nighttime show on tv. I started watching it in the fourth season and it was so good I went on Netflix and watched from season 1-5, some of them twice. If Blue Bloods is cancelled, no Blue Bloods must not be cancelled I look forward to it each Friday. I love the Reagan family, they are so close and they stick up for each other, this is how a family should be.
keep blue bloods on next season, at least there is one desent show on your network to watch not to say much for the others.
You betcha as I also hope the network renews Blue Bloods for next session and many many more after it! Love the show and cast!
Blue bloods is the best show running right now, its family based, no ,blood and goar, no sex scenes, I love it, please don’t cancel.
Love blue bloods.we would like it to not be canceled
It’s a good show. I don’t care what religion you have, for I have a all religions in my family and some that don’t have a religion and they watch the show. The family pitches in for the dinners and I enjoy the time spent around a table instead of eating in front of a tv! Culture these days has gone down the wrong road and I like to see it get back on the right track just like a simple tv show that has values.
please keep blue bloods around. its the best program on TV.
My mother and I love blue bloods. We love it because it a family centered show that includes important morals that other shows lack. We also love it because of how they include prayers at the dinner table. We are disappointed that there are no prayers at the dinner table anymore. Please bring the prayers back!! People need to see these prayers. The prayers dont hurt anyone. It actaully brings families together!!
WONDERFUL PROGRAM. My husband and I watch it with our friends, but we ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO DVR IT! LOVE IT, IT IS THE BEST!!!
Blue Bloods is the best!!!
I just watched another superb episode “Some Mind of Hero” in Season 2. The entire series combines superb acting, riveting plot, and excellent direction to climb to one of my all time TV series favorite. I am always deeply moved by this series precisely because it succeeds in bringing out the very same human values that are universal. They have nothing to do with religion.
I mean Some Kind of Hero.
This is the best of the best drama on tv. I hope it goes for yet another season. I love my Friday night Blue Bloods!
Keep religion (Catholicism) out of it and I may continue to watch.
This is one of our most favorite TV shows. It has excellent story lines with a gripping plot, superb acting by Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and others and the Direction is top notch. We will miss it terribly if the show isn’t renewed. In spite of the error I noted earlier, I am amazed at the quality of the series.
The Reagans are a Irish Catholic family. Of course they are going to reflect that in their lives, such as the Sunday family dinner. My family growing up was not Catholic, but there were 5 of us kids and we had dinner together every night, not just Sunday. If it bothers you that much, there’s always the button on the remote to change the channel.
Like I said, if the focus on religion continues, yes, I will use the remote to change the channel. This is a police program, NOT a course on religion, and in particular Catholicism. There’s been WAY TOO much emphasis placed upon religion, especially in politics…where the separation between church and state should remain.
Yes, this is a cop show, but it also centers on a FAMILY of cops and their lives & how they deal with their jobs. There is also politics in every area of life, definitely in law enforcement/justice system so it can’t veer far from that either. I say you either like the show enough to watch it or you don’t. I don’t focus on any one area, I just enjoy the show as a WHOLE; the family interaction, the story line, and yes, the dinner time ensemble and ensuing conversation.
This show promotes family values including religion. We need more shows like this.
Grow up it is a TV show about Irish Catholics.
Well then, if it’s a TV show about Irish Catholics let’s dispense with the police/crime drama and focus on pardoning Catholic priests who are having alcohol and sexual predator issues. You can be assured that the ratings will then fall. I might also add that I’m 70…and “grew up” a long time ago.
There is a possible error in the episode “Thanksgiving”. The murdered girl is cast as an Indian. I know that “Demir” is not an Indian name. It is probably Turkish. The mother of the girl is dressed like an Indian, the name is Turkish and the brother of the girl does not look Indian at all. They should do a better at research. That’s not a small error.
I cant wait until Friday night at 9 to watch. DO NOT CANCEL one ,if not the best show on TV
I aree…Blue bloods..one of the best pograms on TV
