Bones ended its run on FOX last week, and the star of the series, Emily Deschanel, spoke about the series finale in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
The actress shared her thoughts on the finale and her favorite moments in it. She said the following:
“There are so many scenes leading up to the finale that got to me, and then scenes in the finale. The last scene with the squinterns — it was really special because I rarely get to see them all together. We’ve all had so many different times, just personally, off camera, and so many things have happened for all of them and for me over the course of working with them over so many years. Carla Gallo started tearing up, and then I started crying… My character is looking back and thanking them for everything all of their characters have done, so that was an emotional thing on camera and off, and it really allowed us to recognize the importance of that time. And it was the last scene I was going to film with them. My last scene shooting with our other regulars, like Tamara [Taylor] and Michaela and TJ, was just funny because it was just kind of a crisis situation, what we shot last. But the one saying goodbye to the squints, that really got to me.”
As for the show’s legacy, she wants fans to remember Bones in the following way:
“I would hope it’s remembered as the little show that could. It was a show that never got the attention of other shows, necessarily, but we went for so long, and our fans were so incredibly loyal.”
Bones aired on FOX for 12 seasons. Are you sad that the series ended? Tell us what you think.
I personally rhink they should of kept bones going I’m heartbroken
Great show! Well written and really like the characters. Thank y’all
We loved the program and the characters and ALL they went through. I wish they would continue the series. It will be missed totally and all I have is the reruns
I’m sad that it ended it should have gone on
I watched every show. So much more in death history into the criminal’s mind using the soil, bugs and bones. The show showed how these items were used to get to criminal, not like the other TV shows of today eg., the CSI. I will miss the characters but I wish everyone “best luck” in their new adventures and life.
I have been battling stage 4 metastatic bc for 8 years and raising a daughter. I started watching the reruns on TNT or Fox during the afternoons when I was in bed sick. I feel in love with the show. Then I started watching the actual current shows weekly too. I couldn’t stop watching Bones. I downloaded every episode to my IPad and have watched them more times than Rocky Horror pic show. lol. Showing my age. Now my 14 year old daughter started watching it in bed with me. She watches it on her laptop. I’m so sad to… Read more »

I will surely miss this program. Wish it could have kept going.
The Bones Finale was great. I will miss it but at least you brought it to a close. Thanks for 12 good years. I love the actors.
I loved bones. It was well written and the people seemed so true to life. The issues were well presented. I will miss it very much. I am 83 years young. Love everyone on the show. Please come back soon.
Am very sorry to see the show go. Have watched from the beginning and you start to feel that these folks are your friends. Hope to see everyone on other shows….Good Luck guys.
I am very upset that the show was cancelled I loved Booth and Brennan and the whole gang David and Emily were really convincing I am going to miss them
I miss Bones already, been watching since Day One. All the folks at The Jeffersonian have been like family, giving us drama, romance, suspense, science, humor, and doing a great job of it. Short of the Pelant arc & killing off Sweets, I have LOVED this show.QsNsL
Bones was one of the only shows I’ve watched on Fox.. they seem to keep revolving door so I don’t even bother. But it was a great show. I loved all the beautiful acting and actors… Along with my show Grimm ending it will be one less reason to turn on the tv it will be missed. Thank you all.
