NEW YORK, NY – September 26, 2016 – After winning the 2016 Emmy® Award for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Series, A&E Network’s critically–acclaimed docuseries “Born This Way” has been picked up for a third season. Ten one-hour episodes have been ordered. The announcement was made today by Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for A&E.
“’Born This Way’ is a shining example of what the entertainment business needs more of – powerful, thought-provoking storytelling with a greater purpose,” said Frontain Bryant. “It was incredibly rewarding to see the show recognized with the Emmy Award for giving a platform to the extraordinary abilities and wisdom of the cast and their families.”
Currently in its second season, “Born This Way” provides an intimate look at a diverse group of young men and women with Down syndrome as they pursue their passions and lifelong dreams, explore friendships, romantic relationships and work, all while defying society’s expectations. The series also gives a voice to the parents, allowing them to talk about the joy their son or daughter brings to their family, and the challenges they face in helping them live as independently as possible.
In addition to the Emmy win, earlier this year the show was chosen as one of six honorees for the 2016 Television Academy Honors, an award that recognizes television programming that inspires, informs and motivates.

I truly enjoy this show and look forward to watching all the achievements of the young adults.
I love this show. Much respect to each and everyone of the “stars” of Born Thiss Way. Does season 4 have a start date yet. It would really disappoint me if they cancel this show.
I am in love with this show. It’s bright, positive and really fun. The entire cast is amazing. Truly special show.
Enjoyed watching every episode, looking forward to watching more..
Totally love this show. We all have disabilities and abilities. Focusing on abilities is always the way to go. Too many people focus on the disability and enable dependence rather then encourage independence. The stars on this show are happy because they are loved and encouraged as well as being supported.
i felt like it touched me becouce i spent a lot of my life working with downs kids they r so sweet.america needs to understand that they r human to. i say this besouce there was a real point in time where parents were shamed for having them the place i worked they new we loved them a portion of the love they we capable of giving us.

This is one of the best reality shows i have ever seen. They are real in everything they do .Its just not for the money.I love these young people They are so smart and personable they make people realize that Down Syndrom people are smart, they can take care of themselves, and they are very talented too. This show has to come back to teach all young people that anything is possible as long as you are willing to work for it.
Born this way should be renewed
Born This Way is one of my favorite television shows. It is so thought provoking and gives the views an inside look into the lives of the stars of the show and their families, too, and how they live and cope with the issues they have. I really admire the young people who star in this series. I applaud them for their courage and it really makes me understand the problems they must deal with. Also, it shows the viewers that these people deal with the same problems that all of us do. They worry about the same things that… Read more »
