TV show description:
This political drama TV series revolves around Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer), the powerful mayor of Chicago. He’s known for getting things done, regardless of the moral cost. Quite simply, he’s the most effective mayor in recent history.
Unfortunately, Kane’s recently been diagnosed with DLB, a degenerative neurological disorder. He can’t trust his memory, his closest allies, or even himself. Determined to remain in charge, Kane conceals the disease from everyone around him — except his neurologist, Doctor Ella Harris (Karen Aldridge).
Those around Kane are too busy with their own lives to notice anything unusual. Kane’s marriage to his wife Meredith (Connie Nielsen) is one of convenience.
Kane’s personal aide, Kitty O’Neill (Kathleen Robertson), has her suspicions but stays silent. Kane’s senior political advisor is Ezra Stone (Martin Donovan), a Yale graduate with a rough edge who remains questionless. State Treasurer Ben Zajac (Jeff Hephner) is too busy cultivating his political ambitions to become the next Governor of Illinois to notice anything out of the ordinary.
Only Emma (Hannah Ware), Kane’s estranged daughter, has a chance of learning his secret.
Episode #18 — True Enough
‘True Enough’ Miller publishes a story that could destroy Kane, but Kane’s biggest threat is Kitty’s alliance with Doyle. As Meredith forms a new relationship, Kane goes to the greatest lengths yet to stay on top.
First aired: October 19, 2012
What do you think? Are you sorry that Boss has been cancelled? How do you think the show should have ended?
I can not believe you would leave this show so up in the air. I understand money is always the deciding factor in any production, but the watchers loyalty should come first. BAD, BAD, decision on someones part. Please bring this show back!!!!
Boss and Magic City, my two favorite shows of all time. Will be cancelling my STARZ subscription. I guess they cancel on viewers so we cancel STARZ.
Excellent show in every aspect. Why cancel it? Very sad to hear this.
One of the most compelling scripts ever for TV series – the cast is phenomenal – needs to be continued and promoted .
After giving up TV for over two years.
My husband finally convinced me to watch some quality TV.
The Boss.
Absolutely thought this was edge of my seat viewing, unpredictable, hand over eyes realism, totally engrossed, remarkable acting and mind boggling story line.
And you cancel this incredible program.
WHY, WHY, WHY?
I am dumbfounded.
Myself and others are so very very tired of seeing the caustic waste that is on the tube.
The very least you can do is have a conclusion to The Boss.
Just utterly fed up!!!!!!
I can’t believe you cancelled such an excellent show. Kelsey Grammer and the other actors were superb. My husband and I had never heard of STARZ before this show and would have been interested in looking into subscribing to it but not now. Why get hooked on a storyline that ends with so many loose ends???? That is no way to treat your audience nor the people involved in producing the series. Very disappointed.
I was trying to leave a comment and was told I had left the same one before. I am very sorry but this was my first attempt to comment on this network, Starz. I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to attempt to cancel my comment because it doesn’t agree with the Network. Yes you are wrong in cancelling good series as Rome, Boss, Magic City and now The White Queen. It was very successful in the amount of viewers. So what is your excuse. Time to listen to your viewers, Starzs because you are about to loose… Read more »
really got hooked on this series……………… cancelled………………… that’s a good way to
get high ratings ……………………………
The Boss was one of the most sophisticated, well produced, thought provoking shows on TV. Because the powers to be will never learn nor care about the viewership – they will soon travel the road of NBC, MSNBC and CNN. If networks don’t bring shows like The Boss back, they’ll lose a lot of viewers. Many of us refuse to watch junk – and why pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having lived in Chicago, the show seemed very realistic. Too realistic, maybe.
I am so disappointred that Boss has been cancelled. what a shame, it is a terrific Friday night sitcom. Why,Why, Why did the network cancel such a good show. Boy, the ones they need to cancel, they don’t. Please bring it back””””’
LOVE THIS SHOW! I turly disappointed me when it only had 8 episodes this last season, now they are cancelling it! WHY?
Boss is one of the best of TV……..why cancel. Guess networks just want stupid reality shows or stupid comedies???? I am addicted to Boss and very disappointed that it is gone. Shame on you
I just don’t understand why they always cancel good series. Don’t they want people to continue to buy their cable channel? It just doesn’t make any sense. I’m going to cancel Starz. They have proven to not take in the wants and needs of their subscibers. No point in keeping this premium channel anymore. When they dropped Rome I was shocked. It was a fabulous series. Great acting and costumes in Rome, Boss and The White Queen. Who is running this company? Time to get rid of this person if you ask me.
How absurd to have cancelled this brilliant show! This was one of the best original series on tv. Every episode was powerful and gripping. Very unfortunate that its been relegated to only 2 seasons. What a waste. Hope another network picks it up and soon!
So we get no ending? No tieing up loose ends? All the time I invested in watching that crap and I don’t even get to see the Boss die? Seriously. All those hours of my life, gone. I still want to know the end of Life on Mars!
