A&E has cancelled their crime drama, Breakout Kings after two seasons and 23 episodes. It seems this case is closed.
Breakout Kings follows a squad of U.S. Marshals who make special deals with prisoners to catch escaped convicts. The cast includes Laz Alonso, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Malcolm Goodwin, Serinda Swan, and Jimmi Simpson.
The series debuted in March 2011 to a 1.2 rating in the demo with 2.8 million viewers. The ratings declined in later weeks and the first season finale drew a 0.8 rating with 2.01 million.

In March 2012, the second season debuted with a 0.8 rating with 2.11 million. In that episode, many viewers were shocked to see Alonso’s lead character Charlie abruptly killed off. Alonso later told fans that leaving the show was not his idea.
Over the course of season two, the ratings for Breakout Kings further declined, hitting a low of a 0.5 rating with 1.27 million. The finale aired last month and A&E has decided they don’t want a third season.
Of the cancellation, Malcolm Goodwin (Shea on the series) tweeted, “So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It’s been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next.”
The news comes soon after co-creator Matt Olmstead was signed to run NBC’s new fireman drama, Chicago Fire.

I really loved the show. There are many other shows that should have been cancelled before this one. The least the writers and those in charge could have done is brought a complete ending to the series instead of leaving it incomplete. The way it ended was a total slap in the face to the viewers.
Let me guess, the breakout kings was cancelled because they wanted to know the reaction of the public and then use that to meet demand. well thats basic economics so Dear producer ´´yes´´ Demand is outstripping supply so please do us the honours and bring the kings back. 🙂

this was one of the best shows i have seen in a long time and how season 2 ended and to not show a third season is criminal. i think now that this has been on netflix and has a larger audience the ratings will rocket. yes i agree i think netflix should get involved and do a third forth and more seasons. who agrees with me?????

It did upset me that Charlie died but i eventually got over it it’s a show full of action it’s meant to be dramatic i mean who doesn’t love a big shock i actually just got done the two season i can’t believe there’s not a 3rd lol i had to scream at 5 o clock n the morning i was so upset it can’t end like that that’s so messed up it’s going to like bother me forever if i can’t see how it ends

Yea it kinda went down hill after Charlie died but. Two end the way it did. Just sucks would love to see more
i’ve never watched something so good . i watched the last episode on season two yhinking there were more and there’s nothing . i wish there was much more to watch …
I miss this show so much it was really good and I enjoyed it a lot and I feel like it ended badly there was so many things left unanswered and I think that if you actually want this show back on the air we can make it happen it’s happend before and it can happen again if we get enough support and sign something they will notice and might release a final series after all if that’s what the public wants they will do what they can to make money. Break out kings was one of the best series I had seen in a long time! I really enjoyed every plot behind ever episode granted when Charlie died I was very sad it truely struck home and I believe it was a desperate move by the writes to create a dramatic turn in eventa. Even so I beleive the series was strong and the cast was portrayed very well. It was untill netflix relased the series that I first got my feelings for it because I don’t have cable.
