Of all of the networks, CBS has the most viewers. Unfortunately, their shows also tend to skew older. CBS tends to be the most tight-lipped of the networks so early news of renewals and cancellations doesn’t happen as often.
Here’s a listing of CBS TV shows with their current status. This list encompasses shows that have aired from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
We’ll keep updating the list throughout the May upfronts when decisions are made about most of the shows’ fates. Keep checking back, especially if your favorite is still on the fence.

Cold Case is one of the few shows that really kept my attention, this would be a great loss to my Sundays. We don’t have enough comdy either and taking away Gary Unmarried and The New Adventures of Old Christine is just a big mistake. Their replacing them with two shows that by the end of the season no one will even rember. The Defenders looks like it could be a good show but I think that having Jerry O’Connell on it will bring it down. He has been over exposed in the past few years and has become stereotyped,… Read more »
Why can’t another network pick up Cold Case. It would certainly show CBS. The whole TV schedule doesn’t revolve around the younger group and reality shows. What’s wrong with you CBS. Another boner move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As someone in the coveted 18-49 demographic, I can honestly say that CBS has issues. Not all of us “in the demographic” like reality TV, and I cannot believe they would cancel a great show like Cold Case. I was just getting into Gary Unmarried, but I was excited about that show as well. Now I have nothing on network TV worth watching. CBS, you will not be “TV’s most watched network” much longer.
I like Cold Case but CBS never seemed to care that you couldn’t record it because whatever stupid sports “spectacular” was on the afternoon couldn’t end in it’s scheduled time and always bumped CC to who-at-CBS-cares-what-time. Accidentally On Purpose was truly charming — Jenna is a treasure, every since Townies — and Numbe3s was unique and very clever. CBS has been noted for intelligent programming but has sold out to lowerst-common-denominator reality crap. I’m also sick of networks dumping loyal fans by guessing that something else will be better in the fall. When a network like CBS announces that 8… Read more »
How can CBS cancel Cold Case? It is one of the best shows on television. Great writing and acting. Put it in another time slot on another day. We’re tried of shows that are
poorly written. Wake up CBS. Are you just catering to young people??????????????
Thank Goodness Medium was spared. For all it’s paranormal drama, it seems to be the most realistic depiction of the feelings and dynamics of actual family life that is currently on TV. The acting continues to be superb, the writing is generally intelligent and appropriately witty, and the family continues to grow in realistic ways, while facing realistic life challenges. That this is accomplished within the context of a show whose entire raison d’ete is the primary character’s paranormal ability is extraordinary. I don’t watch much television, but I never miss this show.
I’m still upset that Numbers ended. That was a great show. Loved the actors and great family oriented theme with the father and two brothers and how they lived and worked together.
Why did they cancel Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer?! Those were 2 of my favorite shows and I’m very disappointed that they cancelled them. I also like the New Adventures of Old Christine. I don’t think they made a good decision by cancelling those!
Why did they cancel New Adventures of Old Christine? I loved that show!
I am truly saddened to see Cold Case Files being cancelled. It was a fine series with excellent characters. I even waited up to watch it after presidential delays and Football delays too. I hated that remark about CBS skewed to the Old. What do they think we are???? We are The Baby Boomers and we made TV what it is! When TV was King. Not some trash barrel of reality crap.
I love the shows you cancelled. The 30 minute comedys were such a great break from all the reality shows. Please reconsider and bring back Accidentally on Purpose and
Gary Unmarried. The ratings were not that bad and the shows had a following. The shows you replace them with may not do as well . Come on…..
JUST REALIZED THEY ARE CANCELLING COLD CASE TOO….. IDIOTS THAT IS AN AWESOME SHOW! ACCIDENTLY ON PURPOSE WAS CUTE TOO!! DUMB EXECS …..
foolish foolish foolish …..GARY UNMARRIED AND NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE ………..ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT WAS NOT A SMART MOVE~~~ TWO BEST SHOWS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE MENTALIST, BIG BROTHER,NCIS ,NCIS LA AND MEDIUM!!! B O R I N G !!!!!!!!
I agree Gary Unmarried was awesome and I also liked New Adventures of Old Christine. Someone at that station doesn’t appreciate real shows and doesn’t realize that not all of their demographic like reality tv.
wow, how could you cancel Gary Unmarried?!?!?! They left that series @ such a climactic ending too! grrrrrr.. SOB cbs. that’s it.
