What’s in store for Catastrophe? Recently, creators and stars Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan spoke with RadioTimes about the future of the UK series.
The comedy, which airs on Amazon Prime in the U.S., follows Rob and Sharon, a couple who begin a relationship after Sharon winds up unexpectedly pregnant. The cast also includes Ashley Jensen, Mark Bonnar, Carrie Fisher, and Tobias Menzies.
Catastrophe has already been renewed for a fourth season, but will it be the series’ last? Speaking to RadioTimes, Delaney says the two haven’t even started writing season four yet and are looking to take some time away from the show:
We’ve not set a date yet for series four and we will write it in the next few months I expect.”
Later, Horgan mentioned that if there is a fifth season it will be a long way off:
We sort of think of our spiritual forbear as the Before Sunrise, Before Sunset films. They rather beautifully dip in once every ten years on this couple, and that’s an amazing way to tell a story. That’s not out of the question; [it] wouldn’t be a crazy way to do it.”
Season three of Catastrophe debuts on Prime Video on April 28th.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Catastrophe? Do you want more seasons?
Yes! Please!
best show on amazon! witty, and funny stuff indeed. hopefully the new season will be written and shot before we forget and move on to another amazon hit. I’m sure I can say for everyone addicted to the show that you can’t get it back on the screen to soon!
I watch this on Amazon Prime, and love it. The season is just too short though.
I have been watching this show for the past few weeks, and really enjoy it. I am almost done with “Season 2”. I would continue to watch it if it goes on, but unfortunately when a show goes past 3 or 4 seasons, it seems to “Jump the Shark” and it is is less enjoyable to watch.
I so much enjoy this series. Been waiting to see what happens after the cliff hanger. I think you have a show here that give a chance will grow in popularity if given a chance.
Get of your ass, up your pen and start writing
