It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

I did’nt knew abt this show untill last week wen i accidently tune my channel to zeecafe n i watched.i became so excited dat i downloaded n watched all episodes n even i suggested my friends to watch.But its so sad to hear dat season 3 has been cancelled.Please know dat i m a big fan n i m sure season 3 will have lots of viewers.
My wife loved this show and will be very sad to learn the news. We watched it together.

I am so very upset that this show is being canceled! It was my favorite out of all the shows I follow. A lot of people didn’t know about this show which is probably why the ratings weren’t high enough. Please reconsider continuing this show!
Everytime you create a good show, you air it for a season 1 then cancel it. I loved this show, couldn’t wait from week to week to see what was happening. Then I learned you cancelled it. Gezzz, give these shows a chance. This was a great one, I’m also disappointed in networks. Cancel the garbage like Big Brother, and all the other reality crap you have. You made a mistake with this one. Don’t cancel it.
This is one of the best shows on ABC can’t believe you would cancel it! Very disappointed if you don’t renew it . Its one of the only shows that kept you in suspense never wanted the episode to end. ABC what are you thinking?
I hope you will reconsider your decision. This is a mature romantic comedy with great reparte, character development and sophisticated fun. The characters are great and it is one of the best series on TV
Love the show. They aired it weird. Starting at odd times in the season. Doesn’t help with ratings if you have to figure out when it is going to come back on constantly. Bring it back!!
